Thanks man! I almost have too many projects haha, but it'll provide alot of content for the channel! I've always looked forward to your videos as well! (Subbed under CGTV1).
Just happened to stumble upon your channel. Looks like you have a lot of great projects to keep you busy. You're pretty brave to fire that Hanyang...sorry it didn't hold up! I would've liked to see some range footage of that.
Hey thanks for stopping by! I've been watching your videos for quite some time and you were part of my inspiration to start this channel! Yes, I believe way too many projects, but I cant say no to cheap guns haha! Oh well on the Hanyang lol, It will get repaired and fired once again! I had shot it a bit before I had this channel in mind, so unfortunately I don't have footage. I will have some in the future, I promise!
Not sure if you've done it yet but definitely put some reinforcement in that Carcano stock repair. I don't know if just acraglass will cut it. I'd use some threaded metal rod or at least some strong wood dowels. I'd like to see what you end/ended up doing with that. I had a similar break on a 1916 Spanish Mauser in 7.62 NATO and I used 3 brass screws. I'd do it differently if I had it to do over since I didn't drill it in a way that would cinch the two halves together when I put the screws in. It is holding but could have been stronger. Anvil channel has a great vid on a bad break like that and he does an amazing job.
I have a couple of rifles I need to work on myself . A Hanyang 88 , I need to get it pulled out of the stock to check it out before getting ammo & shooting it . I also need a firing pin for my Arisaka Type 30 and install a front sight on my Turkish 1903 . I don’t envy you , mine is enough , looking forward to see your other rifles
Haha yeah you have enough for sure too! I think I have more than I should chew on honestly, but it will provide good content for the channel! Have you thought about doing videos based on your projects?
@@worldofthearms6976 yes , I just have not done that video yet , overall I have about 60 videos on my channel , I try to put one out every two weeks . Being a 2nd shift supervisor & working 10 hours a shift , I don’t get home till 12:30am & in bed a little after 1:00am . When I go to my parents once a month to do things on their property and around the house , that is where I do my shooting , I try to make a couple so they are ready to put out . Others that are non shooting I do in my home
I just acquired an 1891 Argentine Masuer Rifle in asthetically excellent condition, including the bore. I fired it and found that the magazine was dysfunctional and I could only fire it as a single shot rifle. The magazine lips seem to be so tight when holding cartridges that the bolt cannot slide them into the breech. They will not rise to the correct angle to be pushed in from the magazine. I removed the triggerguard/magazine assemble to disassemble it, but the machine screw bolts are frozen tight, and after 7 days of KROIL and heat, I cannot disassemble it. Any suggestions ?
Hey thanks for your comment! As I am understanding it, you have not even been able to remove the magazine? I have a Belgian 1891/36 and I can press the trigger guard button with a bullet tip to release the magazine. I would say when you get the magazine out, to carefully bend the lips out (in small increments) until you get the desired feed pattern. Or make sure that your spring in the magazine is not worn out. I am not a 100% on your situation though, and I would advise to not take my advice (since I don't know or can't see your situation). I would advise to do some research, and try to remedy as you see fit!
