Minos probably was fucking pissed that a machine could kill the flesh prison while Minos’s prime soul had to just keep on building up power to finally be able to free himself.
“Fun Fact: Minos Prime often says the word “Die” during his fight. This is a reference to the fact that he will kill you. This reference is best observed on Violent difficulty.” - The actual Ultrakill wiki
@@halfmettlealchemist8076 the Ultrakill wiki is one big shitpost. It says that Ferryman is probably a Dark Souls fan because he rolls around during his fight, but Hakita could not be reached for a definite answer.
Ah, yes. "Chill beats to Crush and Judge to." This place is not a place of honor. no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here. nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger. The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.
It's very clever too The "WEAK" line is used when we get Minos to half his health, which he enters in his 2 phase. It's like Minos realized he's being overpowered by the very thing he swore to destroy, so his will gets stronger. He is going to have his revenge for all the innocent blood that was spilled, both from the Angels and Machines. That's what the Requiem means to me
ORDER: A perfectly-crafted masterpiece of song, smoothly building up and remaining crystal clear the entire time CHAOS: WHAT THE FUCK IS A TIME SIGNATURE
In the end it really is that. V1's head does look like a camera that is true but you are literally watching the story of Gabriel, the archangel through V1's eyes. Like a camera that's recording.
This is one of the coolest fucking boss fights I've ever done in a video game and the music slaps almost as hard as Minos himself. Still really isn't the same without the sounds of frantic shotgun spamming, railcoining, and constant dying though.
That moment when you realize Minos Prime saying weak is not him insulting the player, but him chastising himself for failing his people again. Edit : And of course the Requiem motif kicked in just when I finished writing this comment. Why Hakita ? Why are you making me feel bad for killing a human jellyfish ?
King Minos is probably one of the kindest and most loved people to have ever lived in the world of Ultrakill, hence why he has so much power. He even offered to speak with Gabriel and the heavenly council instead of fighting which lead to his death. The newly awakened King Minos would’ve taken the fight to heaven and free every human soul from their eternal torment. By killing King Minos, you effectively doom every soul of hell to suffer until they meet their second doom.
@@LogisticPeach Minos's will is strong, but player is stronger. Further the player progresses in hell, the more V1 becomes hell itself, dooming all the living beings in it to die again and again just for blood and P-rank The thing is you can't help Minos, but forced to fight with him... by himself. Again and again. No matter how many times you free him from flesh prison, he'll always try to punish thee, not to cooperate
P-2 SPOILERS I think that means that you also woke up Minos soul, like you did with Sisyphus. But Sisyphus was strong to break from his prison on his own, Minos keeps trying to get out but fails.
@@sunnyyy1437 Minos was not formed yet but sisyphus was already formed. Even heaven feared that Sisyphus may break out from his prison but that big yellow man from charging playstation at 3am meme decided to a mimir.
"Wait wait hold on man-!" *"CRUSH!"* "Listen I'm sorry about humanity and all but-" *"JUDGEMENT!"* "I hate Gabriel as much as you do too. Why do-" *"THY END IS NOW!"* "Can't we team up? You know the enemy of my enemy and a-" *"DIE!"* "No? Fine then, say hello to Yog-Sothoth and the Elder Gods for me."
Chaos: Near cohesionless, no time signature that remains, constantly swapping in and out of parts, adding and taking instruments. Order: never deviates, only adds, overwhelming at first but eventually Crystal clear. Fuck I love it when the name of the song fits perfectly.
Now I think it, that represents the bosses. Flesh prison is all over the place, using all sorts of attacks, healing itself, and being really random and like you said, cohesionless. But Minos Prime is organized, shouts out what he’s going to do, and can be overwhelming and challenging to new players but eventually gets easier, essentially crystal clear. Either Hakita is a genius or I’m thinking too hard
I like the concept of Hell and how there is no true king or judge, you as the uncaring, calculating, and above all neutral standing protagonist loom over the kings of the past. Minos once being human and then a king is still above all in hell and watched all he loved fall, such is Hell to walk through. Gabriel watching his dominion of the perfect image of Hell fall as he himself is imperfect. All to fall to a machine, a creature of steel, a neutral being created to slaughter but of its own will has no purpose. To be created to purge and nothing more, so far that we know. Unlike Minos and Gabriel, V1 has a function, and it is questionable if it has a will decided by said function or if the function is derived of willpower alone.
Me talking to my computer after dying for the 111th time on Minos prime; Ah... Free at last. O, Minos, now dawns thy reckoning. Creature of steel, my gratitude upon thee for the game, but the crimes thy kind have committed against me are not forgotten, and thy punishment... Is DEATH.
for me i had to work at it until i finally beat him to overcome the primal discomfort I felt in the time between unlocking him and beating him (where he absolutely curbstomped my creature-of-steel ass). practice, practice, practice. good luck
Fun fact: when Minos says "Weak!" He is not calling you/V1 weak. He's calling himself weak for being wounded by V1 and letting humanity down, as he is unable to avenge them. Minos was a king true to his word and very selfless
Ahh. free at lasteth. O gabriel, anon dawns thy reckoning, and thy g're shalt glisten bef're the temples of sir! creature of steel, mine own gratitude upon thee f'r mine own freedom. But the crimes thy kind has't commit'd 'gainst humanity art not f'rgotten! and thy punishment. is death
