Wonderful video. I am one of the users who lost her library. I have been working on ways to recover it, but it is a headache and a half. Not a happy camper! I had just started saving to a flash drive, but now I guess I should have started earlier. Thank you so much for the important information. Love the price comparisons and other alternatives.
Thank you for this video. I am sure silhouette will sort this out but I think it’s just making some of us a bit nervous. I think a blanket email to all users just to keep us up to date would reduce the amount of emails they are receiving, which I am sure is slowing things down . Thank you again much appreciated ❤
I agree that better communication would make all of us feel a bit better. Mass emails only take a few minutes to put together and yes, it would save them a ton of headache! Most of the issues throughout the past year were simple growing pains, with the release of all of the new machines, and then the new website. Good things are coming, but it's been a bumpy ride.
Thank you for the video, I love my Silhouette and especially my Silhouette software. I did write Silhouette but the response did NOT match what they were actually ABLE to do in the email. You give me comfort knowing I am not alone. Thankyou
I was trying very hard to make the switch and on Mother’s Day. I was gifted the cameo five. I am a normal Cricut user. I am getting used to the silhouette studio. I have the basic subscription. Do you recommend at this point buying the upgraded studio version? Can you tell me where to go to do that and to see the prices?
I would upgrade to the Business Edition so you are not limited in anyway. Don’t buy the Silhouette Design Store subscription, with Business you can get more bang for buck and Freebies from other websites.
Thanks for the communication. I did get a blanket email from silhouette which was good. Have done some very, very simple websites. It would be a real feat to change a whole company website! Especially when they just came out with new machines. A double hit! All is going to be alright soon. The "tech guys" are probably working lots of overtime and have grey hair by now. Keep the videos coming with tools and all your knowledge. Thanks again!
I received an email, as well, but only one and that was about 11 days ago. My website is in desperate need of fixing up, but I just pretend it's not there because I just don't get it. 😂 I wouldn't want to be on the Silhouette IT team right now for all of the money, but I think you're right in that they are working hard and will figure it all out soon.
Anyone have more updates ? it has been a month and I am still missing a lot of my purchased design from march and april :( its terribly annoying plus I dont know hot to register my new curio 2 into the software. HELP! They literally stop replying to email ever since they add the stupid little to no use info they attch on the website
Can you tell me why I’m getting oriental Silhouette RU-vid in my SilhouetteAmerica video feed? It isn’t even translated and they are dated 2 weeks ago. I didn’t have them before and now I have, has Silhouette got thinks switched?
I haven't heard of anyone's actual software being affected. That's installed on your computer. Did you install while the site was being migrated? What issues are you having?
@lakeishalopez3146 eliminate the light and close the lid. Outside light will throw the sensor off by creating shadows and glare. You might also need to clean the sensor.
Pssst.............I love your T-top saying!! And thanks for the update info on Silhouette software/website issues. Don't hate me, but I have had no issues with all of the changes. Probably should have typed that with my fingers crossed.
Haha!! Thanks - it's my new favorite. 😂 I very rarely use the Silhouette website, so I've not been effected by it much either. I'm just hoping that they are on the tail end of figuring everything out for the users that do rely heavily on the Design Store and Library.
It’s funny that all this happened when my silhouette broke. I missed most of it. Company replace my cameo 5 with minimal difficulties. My trouble was, I live with a computer guy and he decided to change my files from a cloud system to external hard drive without telling me. Scared the living daylights out of me when I couldn’t find my files. I’ve spent days reorganizing my files because somewhere they got mixed up here and there. Husband learned quickly, due to my panic attacks, not to do anything with my files without involving me. LOL
A backup on a portable drive is good, but I feel for belt and braces, you really need cloud storage too. Many years ago, some relatives of mine lost their house to a forrest fire. Practically the whole town was destroyed. Fortunately they escaped and were able to grab some things, but they lost so much. Including files on computers etc. Cloud storage wasn't as common back then.
@edwardholmes91 that's a good point! The designs that I've purchased online can be downloaded again, but everything I've made myself can not. I do use Google drive but tend to delete a lot of stuff when I run out of storage.
The problem i have is the trace feature! Every time i try to trace it crashes. It take 3 or 4 attempts to trace? It says the program is not responding, that pretty bad when that what you need it to do ?? Also I the other problem is program not responding?? How are you meant to do a design?
I have a design i'm trying to make into a rhinestone design i'm having issues tracing it so that i can make it into a rhinestone design can you make a video and show a better way to trace it or how to improve quality so you can trace it
Tracing an image will always give a lower quality than what you're starting with. If I can't get a decent trace in Studio, I go to an online converter and turn the image to an svg first, then bring it in to silhouette.
I did receive an email on the 8th that said they were hoping to have all of the issues resolved within the week. 🤞I'm sorry you're going through this. A new machine is supposed to be super exciting.
From what I'm hearing, the data transfer isn't complete. All we can do is be patient. 😪 I can imagine the panic feeling, though. Will you keep us updated?
Their software can do awesome things…BUT…it doesn’t properly support any of the ARM based Macs so it running REALLY REALLY SLOW. It’s basically unusable if your project has any level of complexity.
Silhouette and Apple have never played well together. I'm afraid they need to step up their game if they want to stay competitive. It seems like there are new options coming out each year for the vinyl crafters. Silhouette has a decent base of die hard fans, but they also have a lot of people ready to jump ship if one more thing goes wrong.
I save everything in my Dropbox. Saves space on my computer, always available from all my devices, and don't need to be reloaded when I purchase new computer.
@@silhouettesuccess I believe you can get basic for free... It's been a while since I've had basic. But I pay a small fee ($10/mo) to have a couple TB of storage. When I say I keep everything there, I mean everything... Photos, videos, etc.
It's important to keep all users in mind when rolling out updates. The older machines are so well built that there are a lot of Silhouette users with older models. It's too bad they aren't able to make some of the newer tools for them. I think it has a lot to do with the force that the blade carriage can handle? I have quite a few different machines, and love them all for different reasons.
I got a email. They are updating, etc. going to be a bit it said but it should get done it said. What I needed was for they to look into who is buying things under my account.
It wasn’t the best decision. No, technology isn’t that hard if you know what you’re doing. You’re making excuses. We shouldn’t have to take control of “our” end of it. We’re not shareholders…. We’re users and customers. We carry no liabilities or responsibilities for softwares and processes we PAY for. That’s their job. It’s absurd to think we can’t rely on the efficacy of a company we give money to.
I appreciate your stance on this. Please realize that I do not work for Silhouette in any way - I don't even do affiliate marketing with them. I do, however, make it my goal to help users have the best experience they can while using the software and the machines. All I can do is offer up ways around the issues, and lend a sympathetic ear. I, personally, have not been affected by this at all because I have used these backup plans for awhile now. It works to relieve stress when a site goes down. (And I cancelled my Silhouette subscription a while back because I didn't find it to be the best value.) My goal was not to make excuses. My goal was to empower users to avoid chaos while working with companies that will have issues with their website. My frustration with Silhouette is and always will be the lack of customer service. That is an issue that is completely within their control.
@Riot_Man, from what I'm hearing, there were issues that were not on their end. Unforeseen, unpredicted. I understand your frustration. I also understand that not everything in life goes as planned.
@@silhouettesuccess OH COME ON. THAT IS AN EXCUSE. they should have compensate everybody by this point, its been almost a month. I mean why don't they send multiple email reminding people for the migration and even maybe make a video about it ? Instead they push on this Japan crafting experience content and usual news letter. There is only ONE email saying they will make a website update and not even saying anything about the side effects on that matter. im actually pretty angry at them, and you all should too. not to mention there is not a single video I can find commenting about this issue except yours which is more talking about how to buy more from them :( like whyyy

I always recommend the Business Edition if its in your budget, but definitely wait for a sale. Both Silhouette and Swing Design run sales. Wait until you see it for $50.
