Best interviewer of all time. When he interviews Chuck it's not about D.P. it's about Chuck. He never goes to a script. He LISTENS to Chuck and asks the best follow-up questions of anyone..period. Every time he asks a question, he does it in the least amount of words and never asks a 2 minute question just so people will say, "boy isn't he smart". I can think of about 10 interviewers who should take lessons from him. So many times I yell at the radio or TV at other people and say "ask the question".
The thing is Shaq and Chuck often admit to not watching very many games at all. They know ball but don't follow current nba events much. That being said, most of the clowns at ESPN don't deserve a vote either.
@@panner11 The other problem is there are too many people who look at stuff as well, but have no idea how to interpret what they are seeing with any sort of logic. Also, I am still yet to find any sort of commercial media platform that doesn't adopt bias as part of its business model.
Charles is definitely, by far, no one close for honesty...for calling it like it is. My dad always use to say, "Don't ask me if you don't want the answer!" That's Sir Charles!! Like the song, "Tell it like it is..."
Yeah Chuck is known for a lot of things. But the thing he is known for most is honesty. Whether it's brutal or accommodating, he's gonna tell you what he truly thinks.
Met Sir Charles outside of my local Philly gym and chatted with him about the Sixers for five minutes. Back and forth, and he was listening to my takes. He's a treasure.
@@ramuelcruzada3207 I’d prefer you to have a vote before Kendrick Perkins. Or the crooked referee that rigged the early 2000s Kings games. Or the Ghost of Elvis. Lots of options better than Perk.
@@ramuelcruzada3207 I prefer any human being that has clearly defined computational method free of bias which assesses both the tangible and intangible value of players to have a vote. Or otherwise AI.
I have been in a very popular Irish Bar & Pub called Hogan's twice when Barkley was there. The Pub was about ten miles from where Barkley grew up. Both times was between 2006 to 2010. (Hogan's closed in 2013) I was 6ft3, around 230lbs at that time. I felt small standing beside Barkley.
the Big Pop story put the biggest smile on my face. 💙You know Henry is loved beyond measure when just the origin story of his grandpa name is such a happy memory for him
When he said that I think he was speaking for all athletes...i think he was saying that people shouldn't look to athletes as role models because they will disappoint you.
Everytime Barkley does an interview on a show and tells the story about his friendship with MJ I secretly hope he follows it up with “yeah me and Mike are gonna talk.” But I know that’s never gonna happen. Sad but it is what it is
Funny, if you ever have a chance go back and listen to the Oprah interview with both of them and what MJ got mad about is almost exactly what CB said on Oprah. Sad MJ couldn't get past it! Genuine friendship was there!
@@jannjackson8461 literally thinking the same thing! I was in high school in 2005 when that interview happened. They look like real brothers and now it’s sad they don’t even talk. MJ really did take that personal
Chuck gets it. These athletes are insanely too spoiled and entitled to understand this. Sports “simps” will always exist tho to make the players feel like they’re above the fans.
I heard that he’s used that med to lose weight for health reasons but to me he also looks 20 years younger. Good for him! Wishing him many years of good health. 🙏
the MJ beef is because Barkley insulted MJ's intelligence by implying MJ isn't smart enough to recognize Yes Men & wants his buttkissed. Barkley also insulted MJ's inner circle of homies at the same time. If he left it at MJ is not a good owner I don't believe MJ would give af since MJ always used criticism as motivation.
People say Michael is this confident killer but he’s not. He can make fun of Barkley about not winning but the minute Chuck said something about Michael, he went ballistic on Chuck. Michael has and always will be a prima Donna. Still gotta have documentaries and movies about him 25 years later. He always needs to be in the limelight
Kyrie is like Iverson, SG inside a PG body, you need to learn from the 76ers, how they built around AI, just remember, it's hard to win a champion like this...
Dan didn't ask the challenging question to chuck...."Charles if had the chance to do your critique on Michael Jordan's ownership decision's would you address it publicly again like you did it the first time " or would you do it privately?
@@cudackedees3327 not when it comes to friend...there are ways to constructively criticize a friend without the public criticism...It is not your job to criticize management...it's the players you criticize so my opinion Charles was wrong... in some cases Friendship is more important than a job a true friend would criticize behind closed doors....closed doors....not publicly...you just don't do that...
@@vitosmith8195 like I said he was doing his job on national tv. Jordan never let that friendship get in the way of him doing his job on the national tv too.
Michael JORDAN'S gripe wasn't the comment about his ownership tenure. But what he was upset and disappointed about was the fact that he aired it publicly via television. Folks really missed as to why JORDAN'S was mad and had every right to be mad. I would've been just as mad and cut him off as well because true friends don't do that. At least not in my book. Call me first to let me know what the deal is before going on tv. Michael called him privately which I respect instead of going on social media and airing his grievances.
💯 in agreement....I don't even know why these media guys don't approach Charles about that because everytime I hear a media person asked Charles about this they never challenge him on how he did the critique was wrong ...so I'm with you true friend's don't do that the person they are considered to be there friend you just don't do that...That's not true friendship....
John the prophet that's not the case. Michael was upset because he did it publicly. Anyone would've been upset. It's human nature bro. Anyone of us would be mad if a supposed good friend went on tv and put me on blast. Me and that person would no longer be friends. Period
I got a few autographs as a kid…I’d never ask for one now as an adult. I’m good on the man-worship stuff, no thanks. I enjoy the game and/or commentary, but that’s where it ends for me.
