u mean tim donaghy? he’s said he didn’t change how he called, he just knew which way to bet based on what guidance the league gave the refs pre-game. for example if the nba says “watch for this type of foul on kobe when he’s driving”, kobe’s gonna get calls and most likely the lakers will cover the spread. believe him or not about changing his calls, this makes a lot of sense as a way the league can influence outcomes without needing to cover up a conspiracy

@@redcast104thats not true lol There is film of the series, multiple calls against Kings were phantom calls. Especially in big swing moments of a couple games. Tim can say whatever, the film shows the truth. Whether he did it intentionally or not is irrelevant. He definitely 100% made terrible calls that favored Lakers

The league has wanted more scoring and less physical play since the mid 2000's. Now we're seeing the shitty end result. The referees have more control over the game which leads to people thinking its rigged. They have way too much influence over the game

100% because there is a foul/violation on almost every possession these days. So they can ignore 95% of them as ppl have gotten used to it, but choose to call it when the game is on the line or only on certain players/teams

In soccer when the result is 2:1 its very clear to see game-changing bad calls, but in basketball the results are 120-116 nobody counts how many points went from bad calls. It's just very easy to rig close games and nobody would even notice

Also, most basketball fans seem to not watch games or are not knowledgeable. They only seem to count bad calls in the last seconds or minutes of a game and not all the bad calls throughout the other 40+ minutes

the fact in last few years, its almost common that teams will get a 20 point lead, and lose the game,,,, as in to create drama in the game! cause used to games were either close or if u was up by 20 you was cookin and not let other team back in the game! thats just horrible time management and shot choices and bad defense to give up a 20 point lead

The officiating is terrible. Not the no calls on arm chops, or letting travels go or even missed shots to the head..... The overuse of tech fouls and making the game about the refs is damaging the sport. But I'm going to agree with Chuck. You can't have a player insinuate corruption about the officials. You just can't.
