I remember being a little kid, in the early 70's, hearing that song. I could have cared less but for my Mom singing it in the car. You remember things like that and that's what 70's music did.

Fox denied Lori Lieberman writing credits. When she heard Don Maclean sing Empty Chairs she felt he was singing to her. She wrote some of the lyrics and she released her version in 1972. Flack got lucky and heard Lori’s version. Roberta recorded and released her version which sailed up the charts. Lieberman is on RU-vid telling her side.

Just in the wake of having lost Norman lear, I've got this to say. Is never a bad time for one of those "men behind the curtains" like Charles Fox to be given their moment of recognition. At first, it did not make sense that he and Roberto were both sitting with Norm. I am glad it was ultimately explained.

My favourite is his score for the movie "Foul Play" 😍 I wish there was a pdf score reduction for piano of this. I could probably hammer out the keys and try to figure out the chords, but much easier to read off a sheet lol
