Charlie's Bunion Labor Day Hike. Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 

We all get a bit obsessed with the long views but the fog turns our attention to the beauty in what's up close.. like the lovely part where you edited together the cloudforest's mushrooms, moss and flowers w music. When the mists break up enough to reveal the mountains, it's more aesthetically interesting and dramatic than a clear day. The mountain rules out our expectations, gives and takes on its terms. You dont hear mountain hikers brag as much as tell how lucky or humbling it was.

I enjoy collecting views but also like the fog and the clouds. It makes the scenes so dramatic and is different vibe. The Smokies lived up to their reputation that day and looked great! Cheers! 🍻
