I have the HSS is primer gray largely in part because of your vids ! I just prefer the single in the neck.

A few years ago I would have said HSH but I have to go with HSS. I am finding over time that I prefer a single coil in the neck.

I wish they'd do a DK24 FR with a single humbucker and stainless steel frets.

That's sir Robbie Blunt in the intro, one of the greatest song Artists ever that helped save Plant's uncertain career. I always, always had and still have the first (Robert Plant) solo records in the car to this day. Robbie Blunt took guitar music to a whole 'nother level just in compositional genius alone not to mention amazing playing and tone. Robbie Blunt is in a league all his own when it comes to melting your heart and blowing your mind even at the same time.

Cam I just wanna say (from Boston Ma. BTW) that you got me into Charvel guitars! I’m 31 on April 11 2021 and have been playing since I was 12 in 2002 so since then I’ve only played my Les Paul (Tobacco Burst, Gibson Standard Pro) and my fathers Clapton Tellie when he passed in 2004 but besides that that’s all I’ve ever even attempted to play up until late 2019 I wanted to buy a new set up. Guitar, Marshall JMC 800 Lead series Studio and a good distortion pedal. I tried many many guitars and it came down to honestly the Green Bengal Satchel Model Charvel or this PRS I forget what kind but I went with the Satchel model and the pedal I got was the Butthole Burner lmao it’s honestly the best distortion pedal but yeah, you really got me into the Charvel with your videos! Btw I seen you on stage with the Panther! So awesome bud! 🤘🤘🤘🤘

i agree, charvel is charvel, not one leaves their factory bad, it's just pick up flavor, other than that, every piece of wood sounds a bit different , so just pick one up and play it, if it sounds like what you want to hear , buy it, they all play about the same

I use Lucas engine oil conditioner on the nut and it works fantastic for yrs...I'm an auto repair tech and that's all I had on hand....love your flawless playing sometimes intimidating lol...

Nice video! There's the Chlorine Burst model which is HH and has a little switch to split the coils which certainly seems to the best of both worlds! I went to try one of these in the Before Times and I fell in love with it, for me they're just effortless to play. I'm a huge Criss Oliva fan and he got me into playing Charvels.

I wish they would bring back the neon San dimas range. They were so cool.

Cameron I have the grey one. I ditched the stock Charvel tuners for Sprezel with staggered posts. I don't use the string trees, still lube the nut 😄. Tuning is soild as a rock. Possible future upgrades would be kill switch, brass block, brass machined bolts and neck bolt inserts.

I ordered the HSH last August, and I had a bad experience. I lost my temper lol, and I sent it back when I could not get the set up right, and didn’t have the tools to fix the fret work. I wasn’t feeling like paying for all of it to be fixed, but I liked the way the guitar felt and the sound was great in the spots where it played the right way. I did make a mental note to possibly try it again sometime because of that. I can see that they can be great so maybe I will try again. Great job Cameron!

I love'em all but if I could I would get an HS (yeah 1single in the neck, no middle) with transparent or burst finish, gold hw, and a 22reverse headstock neck. That would be mine.

You can still get strat clean sounds from a middle single coil, ask John Mayer. It's a tough choice, it really is...but I think I'm HSH. I lean to the side of hard, dirt tones.

I would take the HSS and replace the neck single-coil with a Duncan "Coolrails" twinblade and install a push-pull on the tone knob to be able to split the bridge humbucker and Coolrails,separately.Andy Timmons has a twinblade in his Ibanez and he still gets all the singlecoil neck toanes,while having no hum and extra output for high gain leads. P.S. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR NUT LUBED!

Hi Cameron, after tons of research, I am going to purchase the HSS version in Shell Pink as my first guitar to learn on. Do you have any amp recommendations for me? I’m looking for something as versatile as the guitar. I saw some demos of the 5150 iconic that were interesting. A friend told me to look into the Spark. Help!

I haven't gotten a DK24 yet, what a shame. Just playing my yellow Satchel, and god it is phenomenal. #58 from 2018 so I guess it's one of the first ones made.

I hate that I ever picked up an HSS Strat recently. I was perfectly happy playing my single H guitars. Maybe HH. THEN THE HM STRAT RUINED IT FOR ME! I used to think single coils would never be for me, and now I love them. I am having my Meteora routed for a single middle coil. Hoping that will handle business for me.

It would be cool if Charvel did a hhh configuration with a floyd rose 1000 bridge

It’s not the nut; it’s the string trees that cause DK24’s to go out of tune. Guthrie’s sig has the same bridge - only difference is he has staggered locking tuners instead of string trees - that’s what you need to keep DK24 in tune.

The orange looks great the neck also seems a bit darker than the grey which looks great. I love the bridge single coil with delay though so I'm still torn. Can't wait for a DK22 review.

My biggest problem with humbucker in the neck is you're putting a naturally darker pickup in a spot that emphasizes the bass frequencies. To me anything above ~10k just sounds like mud, that's why a single coil with more treble just works better. I don't even like dual humbucker for this reason, unless it's mini humbucker or you specifically get a low output humbucker for the neck, like ~6k with no hum that sounds awesome.

I've yet to try a Charvel, so I don't know if I'll like the neck, but I wish they wouldn't recess for the trem.

Hello Cam! Been a while since I left a comment. I've been watching! But I've been uploading tons of my daily practices ..Its amazing feeling coming from decades of drumming and keyboarding writing music to guitar in 2018. That's, if you remember when I first subbed ! Saw your Pop and you taking questions reminding me of my son and I. Funny I taught him guitar even though I only really knew a couple of major chords etc. Anyway. I agree with HSS. I've and Ibanez hsh s370 2001 that has the stock AHM pups I believe and actually love it and then the cleaner tones and blues the LTD MH-103QM horizon has the alnico stock Middle and Neck pups that I am planning to buy some more wherever I can to put in some strats. Heheheheh. Be well my young friend and you and my son are amazing players!!!!

The HSS seem to be a great guitar , good price and specs, i'm intersting in the DK22 too. The only thing that make me hesitate is the color offer, too few and so dreary 😫, i don't understand there choice. They would have have done better to keep the so cal/san dimas nice colors (deep purple, satins and classics white/blue frost)

dude just put a tusq nut and you dont have to lube it with wd40 thats crazy and make it into a hardtail by tightening the bridge if you dont use whammy
