🖊️ Seby, I have 3 of the 4 Inks and agree with most of what you said. I didn’t hear you mention that the Premiere, which I loathe and just cancelled after 7 months, is a charge card hybrid. You can’t carry a balance on it unless you meet a $500 purchase threshold and keep that class of spending within a limited percentage of your overall line of credit. The card is flawed in many ways and as you said is on an island if it’s own. Keep up the good work, you’ve helped me tremendously on my cc aspirational travel journey. I’m booked for the Maldives next year for my 50th birthday 🎉.

Better off starting with the Ink Preferred as it has a limited time high offer of 100,000 points. If you can hit the minimum spend, of course. Hold that for a year and then cancel and get the Sapphire Preferred after.

I love the no annual fee Ink cards and the Preferred is amazing too. I don't have interest in earning cash back at the moment so the Premier wouldn't offer any value for me

That Ink Premier is so for team cash-back, in every scenario I can't help but imagine the potential of that 2.5 % cach-back as UR points getting oversized value. Secondly with that a.f. of $195 it's not worth the management to me when I can easily use that same management time with the ciu, the cic and let the amex bbp handle everything else. Even if I had an automatic spend of $40K to use at my leisure, I couldn't give it all to one card.

🖊️I have all 4 Chase Ink Cards and FF, FU and CSP cards. Ink Premier definitely wins for presentation and that it was overnighted upon approval with a huge limit. I wish Chase would make all of their cards like the CSP and CI Premier without numbers on the front… Anyway, I’m finding uses for all of them, but none of them are really daily cards like the AmEx Gold. Premier is a good card, but with $195 annually, I’m not sure it’s going to make year two because it’s basically the same 2x benefits as AmEx BBP and BBC, both of which are free. Chase REALLY needs a grocery card as a permanent category, ideally with CSP.

Great video that answers a lot of the questions I have. I recently hit the SUB of 100K points. The 3x on ads, shipping, travel are not big spends for me, but the cable, internet & cell phone are. The Ink Cash however gives 5x back on those, but does not have the phone insurance like the CIP. My plan was to still downgrade this card to an Ink Cash or Unlimited. Then pickup a CSP or CSR to have my transfer partners. Thoughts?

The CIP also has transfer partners if you wanted another business bonus. Otherwise, go with the CSP or CSR based on if you want lounge access/travel credits or not.

🖊️ Great video. I've been on the fence on what card I should get for a while now. I regularly spend over 5k (single transaction) on inventory for my business, so I would be eligible for 2.5% back with the Premier card. But not being able to transfer points pushes me back on getting it. This is because I want to travel in the future. Any advice on things to consider when choosing a card? I'm probably applying for one next month.

So in order to make the annual fee break even you need to spend $39,000 on purchases over $5K, any less you pay a fee and can just get a straight 2% back card. This may help

✒️ This year I was able to complete my ink trifecta. I also have CSR, CFF, VX, and Amex platinum. Since I have the VX and CIP, does it make sense to downgrade CSR to keep my AF low? Seems like I’m not getting positive value from my CSR and I can keep the 3x multiplier for food and travel with my CIP and CFF. VX has similar benefits

Do you use the credits? If you bikeshare at all or rideshare a lot the value from 10p/D on Lyft and free premium membership for Citibike/Ford Gobike will pretty much make up the annual fee. Only applies to hyper-metropolitan areas like NYC or SF.

@@henryzhang7873 I moved from CSR to VX. Well, I downgraded CSR to CSP a year or two ago. Fortunately, I'm already past the 4 purgatory to re-apply for the CSR/CSP and reap it's bonus! I didn't realize that until I started trying to calculate my 5/24 and saw my CSP/CSR account opening date, then read the terms and conditions for CSR/CSP SUB. Sebby says downgrade, wait a week and re-apply! Hopefully it works out as such. As for OP: look at the benefits CSR offers and how they are utilized with your typical spend. If it's not worth it and you aren't habitually using the Chase lounges, it's probably worth downgrading to CSP or just to a different Chase card altogether. It's good to do this occasionally since you may actually be missing out on certain bonus categories if you align your auto payments to that card and just haven't done so.

Not sure if this was an oversight or if you know something we don't know, but the Ink Preferred has annual fee of $95, not $0 as mentioned here. Edit: Just realized that you said $95 although the screen said $0.

Combine them via the Chase UR portal. You can move points around to other cards.

@@AskSebbyBusiness It's a little wonky, though. You'll have to set up a new Chase online login specifically for business. Once you establish that new login, I can't remember if it will automatically find your personal account, but you may have to link those yourself (not too difficult). Once you do, *your business account chase login will show both business and personal, whereas the personal chase login WILL NOT SHOW BUSINESS CREDIT CARDS*. Therefore you will most likely use your business login for pretty much everything. Once you get to that, you can go through your regular Chase travel portal and then you'll find all your business and personal cards and freely transfer (aside from Premier) among them. Hope that helps! It was super weird for me and I had to figure all of that out myself just trying to get my CIP on an auto-payment schedule, but glad I did!

How does the subs work? If you get a sub for 1 card, can you not get subs for the other 3? Or in what order should you get the cards to maximize getting all the subs?

I don't think it matters like it does with AMEX (now). I'm actually going to attempt this probably in the next month or so. I have CIP and already hit the SUB on that. Next will probably be CIC then CIU specifically for SUB. I have a feeling I *may be denied* due to velocity of card acquisition, but we'll see. If so, hopefully Amex won't care, nor will C1 for their BVX.

Yes. Officially, primary CDW from the Ink cards doesn’t apply to personal trips. It is secondary for personal trips.

Chase Ink Premier. I have the Chase Ink Preferred as well as CSP (I downgraded a legacy CSR to CSP after moving to C1VX a year or so ago), and Ink Preferred Transfers to my CSP UR bank. I'm going to snag the CIU and CIC, soon for the SUB and it not hitting 5/24 limit.

i believe you need to be under 5/24 to get the card but it does not count as an additional card toward 5/24 (i.e. if you were at 4/24 before getting an ink card, you'll still be at 4/24 if you get it)

Given that Ink cards aren't special, the Right question is "does the 5/24 rule apply to Chase biz cards?", and the answer is yes, with the exception that the personal side of Chase ignores even their own biz cards, but _not_ vice versa. Get Chase biz cards _first_ when you're 4/24, or considering multiple biz and personal cards.

Capital One Business Venture X. Great lounge access. Annual fee is $395, which has a credit of $300 for any travel purchased through Capital One Travel Portal (which pricing is very reflective of google flights, direct bookings or direct hotel pricing). There's also 10k gift for each account anniversary. You also earn a flat 2x points on every purchase, no matter the amount or what category; always 2x points per $1. They're basically paying you $5/year to keep the card. It's a no brainer if you can be approved. It's a Visa Infinite, so pretty much accepted anywhere that Visa is accepted (I've used it in Seychelles, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Thailand, etc...).

Chase business cards are trash unless you're using them with trusted suppliers. Completely incompetent if you ever have a dispute. "We made a mistake, this turned into a mess, but it might be too late for us to fix it."
