I grew up watching utley and always loved him. Plays hard, great hustle, and pure class. No showboating or anything even after he shuts the crowd up

Phillies are always first but we're clearly out of it so I want the Dodgers to win it all, rooting for you guys when playing other teams besides my own. Utley is a gift, his stats aren't the greatest but when you need him he'll always come through. Can't even imagine how long this video would be if you added his whole career.

Your video implies the subsequent hits after the slide were in the 2015 playoff series - they were not. Utley didn’t get on base after game 2. I was at game 3 of the playoff series when the crowd booed him. Right after, they introduced Tejada who came out on crutches. Every Dodger applauded for him except Utley. Class act. BTW, that broken leg effectively ended Tejada’s career.

It was a legal slide. Not particularly dirty. Any player would do that in the situation he was in. He then proceeded to destroy the Mets for the rest of the series. Badass.

The problem with these slides is that now with instant replay, the neighborhood rule is no longer in effect. Meaning the fielder is in an increased danger to injury on these slides cuz he is less able to get out of the way.
