I’ve come to like the pitch clock because it cuts out a lot of dead time that just wasn’t needed before

Shifting involved moving all infielders to one side of the field. The reason for the shift is because many power hitters almost always pull the ball. By shifting all defenders to either the left or right side of the field they created a defense that's very difficult to hit the ball through. MLB believed this detracted from other elements of the game, so they ended it.

The thing every baseball fan fears. When a newbie asks them to explain a balk.

I like most of the rules so far. Before the pitch clock, it allowed for too much talking and collaborating between pitcher, catcher and coaches. Not everyone is a fan, and we could add time to the clock if that would help, but I like it. Change is not easy, but I think it's for the better. I may feel differently later, but for now, it's been good. I even like seeing the use of loopholes of the new rules.

Teams have abandoned putting outfielders in the shift position because it leaves one side of the field unoccupied and teams found out the hard way its not worth the risk

Baseball is one of the most "cerebral" sports around. So much going on especially in close games. Coaches are always doing hand signals to the batters and runners on every pitch. Shifting allowed the defense to stack players on one side or the other of 2nd base. Now you have to keep two players (infielders) on each side of 2nd base.

Even long time baseball fans dont know the exact rule that constitutes a balk similar to how confusing LBW can be in cricket

-The pitch clock was an instant favorite for me!! There’s nothing more boring (or annoying) to watch a batter go in & out of the box or the pitcher take a minute to throw each pitch!! -I wasn’t a fan of the “ghost runner” in extra innings but since the Phillies have had numerous extra inning games, I found it way more exciting! -I’m still not loving the DH (designated hitter) in the National League but if it wasn’t implemented then Bryce Harper wouldn’t have been able to play in the postseason & take us to the World Series. -The shift is growing on me because it keeps the ball in play.

Games are long because of all the commercials. But commercials help pay the bills.

The new rules ended up being a big success. Games shorter and more fun

Hate the pitch clock. It's because people now have no attention span.

its not just that, im 3 months late to this comment but i personally think the pitch clock is great, ive never played baseball could never afford to play, but i have watched a lot and have a friend who plays college baseball as a pitcher who loves the pitch clock, every time a fan says they hate the pitch clock, they always explain it being bad for in game experience since they cant leave and get a drink or food or socialize cuz they will miss action, what i say to that, is do u enjoy the game or r u just there to do other things? No one goes to a game just to get something to eat that isnt the sport, so the major reasons fans hate the pitch clock imo is the dumbest shit. The pitch clock is amazing because baseball was too long and it is dying, this can save it, more and more people refused to get into baseball cuz no one has the time to watch for hours, let alone everyone struggling with daily life most of us cant afford to give up hours for baseball games, and baseball fans try to say "oh well football is just as long" but football is one game a week(with a clock unlike baseball with the possibility of endless extra innings), 17 a season nfl, 12 ncaa, baseball is 162 idk if they will go down to 154, but each game averaged 3 and a half hours, thats 567 hours minimum for one team, not counting if u watch different teams cuz i watch 2 teams from nl and al, pitch clock is going to make the games more enjoyable, more action hell more than football now, and get more people interested and bring the views back up cuz length is what killed views to begin with, there is a reason mlb players themselves love the addition, if u can sit and watch 4 hour + games ur privileged, cuz dont forget not every game is 9 innings, without pitch clock a 12 inning game would be over 5 hours, last season a 12 inning game with pitch clock was 3 and a half, u need to learn old fans wont keep the sport alive cuz one day u will die, sport either evolves or goes into the history books, now they could tweak the pitch clock maybe add more time, but it needs to stay, just like football has a play clock and basketball has a shot clock, pitch clock is needed

More black outs also; even if you are watching on pay t.v. I hate the new rules. Doubt people who like them are readers. No patience. That's out of left field I know. Anyway, it has me losing interest in baseball.
