Che fortuna ho avuto!!!!!!!! Ero corista in Arena negli anni migliori della sua carrirriera. Me lo sono goduto tutto era straripante, nella voce, scenicamente, nel suo modo di essere esuberante, era incontenibile, generoso nel concedere bis e tris, non lo troviamo mai in difficoltà in qualsiasi ruolo. Insomma un vero fenomeno, come fenomenale è questa interpretazzione, c'è sentimento, trasporto, e un mare di voce che gestisce con estrema facilità, i suoi acuti sono da antologia. Con lui tante recite fantastiche, il pubblico lo acclamava, fantastico.!!!!!!! (un vecchio corista)

There is no doubt that this is as near perfection as is possible. This is from The Rene Kollo Christmas TV-Show in Antwerp 1984. The striking thing about it, is the ease in which he did it. and in the correct key. Almost all tenors when singing this live, transpose a half tone down. Some people talk about Corelli and del Monaco both of whom I admire, but they had to adopt the Mellochi method-- the lowered larynx technique because their natural voices were small. Although Corelli made a great success of the method. Bonisolli's studio recording on the old Acanta set is also great as is his performance of the aria when at very short notice he stepped in for Aragall in Vienna in 1973. Still if banished to a Desert Island I would definitely bring this one.
Wow, just wow. What an amazing tenor. This is not normal….What I love about Bonisolli, he’s always competing. Everything is a competition to him. And he will step up. This guy, wow.
I have enjoyed this live recording many times, not "just" because it is as close to perfection as is humanly possible, but also because of Franco's expression just after he has finished and before the applause breaks loose. It is extremely difficult to do what he does with the very last note. Even if he was sure he could do it, it is obvious that he was both happy and proud at that moment. A very appealing and attractive sight. I think I would have liked the man very much.
You are right - in my opinion- perfect. With this singing he entered my heart: the technich that transports the emotion and interpretation. When I was young, I started singing too. I was happy about every step forward but Franco showed me the limit - and it will be his secret how he produced it soooooo beautiful!
Diese! Wundervolle! Stimme - so perfekt gesungen - und gleichzeitig mit so viel Gefühl - und Intensität - Franco eröffnete mir ( leider sehr spät) die Welt der Oper, ich habe ihn erst 2000 "entdeckt", Dank auch noch an Andreas für die damalige " Entwicklungshilfe" - gibt es eigentlich einen Mitschnitt der Radiosendung, die du damals gemacht hattest? Ja, solch wunderschöne Stimme - und so viel Ausdruck!Danke, Danke, Danke!!!!!!
Questa é vera ARTE cantata così la GELIDA MANINA!!!!!!!!! queste erano le sue performance in ARENA di VERONA. In qualsiasi ruolo non lo troviamo mai in difficoltà, era il dominus della scena in ogni circostanza, fisico da attleta, voce straordinaria per colore, corposità, estensione, mai sentita una STECCA nonostante concedesse bis e tris nelle romanze più famose e impegnative, insomma FRANCO BONISOLLI a pie pari con CORELLI, DEL MONACO che lo hanno preceduto nel tempo. (questo è il parere di un vecchio corista) cordialità

After a very good interpretation with deep expression and and a fabulous high C, why does he feel the necessity of this horrible last note sung, after an ugly breath, in two times with a glissando of the worse style.
