Budget friendly, dual monitor, desk mounted stand. This stand holds up to two 27" monitors and worked out great for my setup. Hope you all enjoy the setup and review.

This is a phenomenal video. Thank you for going so in-depth with this product and showing the setup process, evaluating it with two 27" monitors on it, showing the leftover bend, and taking the time to share your thoughts. I appreciate this great information! 😃

selw0nk Thank you! I find that it works quite well for my uses. The vertical orientation is excellent for websites, documents and so much more. I used to run a vertical 23” 1080p monitor but prefer both monitors to be 1440p avoiding window size change when dragging between monitors. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a great day.

In the late 90s/early-2000s before dual/triple/quad/etc. monitors were as common as they are today; stands like this easily started at $300-$400 and were mostly all made by Ergotron. $29 is a trip! Thanks for the review.

@JayPTek
@JayPTek 4 года назад
The arms can be in front of the stand but it depends on how you position them. If you want the monitors furthest from you, you have to push the arms back beyond the stand post. Either way you will need to pull the desk slightly away from wall when using the clamp method. How far depends on positioning. Hope this helps.

I’ve used ever since this video. I haven’t had a tilt issue but I do have the screw for tilt cranked quite tight. I do think they could do more to ensure it doesn’t tilt. I actually have it holding a 34” LG ultra wide and vertical 23” as in this video.

Do you think this mount would work with a metal frame? I've been looking every where for a mount that would look like it would work with my desk. I had a boom arm for my microphone that is supposed to mount on the desk but the frame is in the way of the clamp.
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 4 года назад
Mounts very much like a mic arm boom would just stronger. Needs a couple inches or so of surface to clamp to. There is also the option to put a hole in desk but idk if that is an option you’d consider.

@dzireg

Can you put it so one is infront of you directly and one is to the left of you. Both horizontally
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 3 года назад
Yes this will work with two 27” monitors when one is pushed back toward mounting location. If you want the monitor in front to be closer you’ll lose the ability to move the side monitor in ward. If using two 23-24” monitors there will be a bit more room to position.
@Jargaaa
@Jargaaa 5 лет назад
Can you adjust it so the left monitor is looking straight forward and slant the right monitor so its facing towards you?
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 5 лет назад
Not sure if you mean both horizontal or not. With my two 27" monitors horizontal I can put one straight on to me with the arm parallel with the desk and have enough arm movement for the other monitor to be turned in quite a bit if this is what you are asking. One thing to keep in mind is that as you pull a monitor closer to you from the stand mount you loose arm reach reducing the amount in which the second monitor can be turned toward you. Hope this helps.

This is a really good review. How did you go about making those minor adjustments for flush monitor alignment mentioned at 12:07?
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 3 года назад
Thank you! I should have included some visual representation of what I meant. Where the monitor mount slips onto the arm there is a nut that secures the mount to the arm. The threaded bolt that the nut goes on has an Allen keyed end. With the nut off you can use the smallest included Allen to raise the resting position of the monitor. This is a set it and leave it type deal. There's roughly 1/2" or so of adjustment.

I have a question and it seems like I cant find anyone else doing this, With this monitor stand the main monitor you use the one on the left can you pull it closer to you? if so how many more inches you say its able to pull out more in front of you? and I mean as if you are pulling it without changing the angle or position as well as height just straight out from where it is now. I want to get this but I dont want to be limited on how close or far back i can place the main screen since the other will be used for just streaming chat while the main one I want closer for gaming.
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 4 года назад
I sometimes pull the main monitor closer. The downfall is with two 27” monitors in horizontal orientation. You’ll block the second monitor as you pull the main monitor toward you. With that being said you can pull the monitor toward you quite a bit probably something like 18” or more from the post. The arms aren’t long enough if you want to move two 27” horizontal monitors far from mounting post.

@JayPTek
@JayPTek 6 лет назад
Dennis W thank you! Stand is still great. A purchase I would do all over again in a heartbeat. I wondered why I didn’t do this sooner. There is a lot of horizontal adjustment between the arms and swivel point on the monitor mount. 2 x 27” monitors horizontal mounted is definitely within the means of the stand as Vivo claims. Very solid product for the money. Only drawback would be for those looking for on the fly vertical adjustment. If you’re fine with setting and leaving the vertical height alone it’s great. Arm length is fairly long too allowing pulling a screen closer if needed.

Provided you don’t push the arms past parallel with the desk only about an 1” max for clamping method. If both monitors are not 27” it is possible to push them pretty far toward desk mount but this will require more desk to wall space.

@JayPTek
@JayPTek 4 года назад
Thank you! There should be no problem turning one toward you and keeping them touching. Only thing I would note is that with two 27" monitors mounted horizontal the monitors will need to be positioned closest to the stand in order for the arms to be long enough to allow one turned in. The arms aren't really long enough for two 27" horizontal monitors to move much from the stand pole. Provided you don't mind the monitor being 0-2" in front of the desk mount (the rear of desk) you can turn one monitor very far in.

@JayPTek
@JayPTek 5 лет назад
Joshua Shaw I could have been more clear on that part. You can grab one and move it closer to you while the other stays put. You can do this without using tools. It will cause it to gradually loosen over time and require some occasional tightening with the included Allen’s.
@BadWeatherfreak
@BadWeatherfreak 2 года назад
How flat can you set it against the wall? I am looking for something I can sit as flush as possible against a wall.
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 2 года назад
The position of the monitor(s) in relation to the post determines the distance from the wall. As long as the arm closest to the post doesn’t have to be pushed back further than the post you only need an inch tops beyond the desk to mount on the back of a desk.
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 2 года назад
To accommodate all positions the mount allows for sometimes the arms need to bend back beyond their mounting location. This usually the case if using small monitors and or a vertical combination. If touching the monitors together is desired.

@JayPTek
@JayPTek 6 лет назад
When I used the 212 EVO with my custom fan curve and 8700K @ 5.0Ghz 1.408v the temps were too high for my taste. I hit absolute peak of 77 C in BF1 and broke into the 90s in Realbench. I could improve on this by turning fan speed up and/or adding another 120mm fan to the cooler. Additionally, like you did I could have put liquid metal under the heatsink as well. Being that it is conductive I typically choose not to use liquid metal there but you can certainly improve temps that way. I think I can only get up to 4.8-4.9 Ghz on my particular 8700K at the 1.38v you have yours at. Another thing to note is I also used a higher load line calibration (LLC) so 1.408v is what I see when I am 100% load. Based on your configuration your temps seem right in line with what they should be. I hope I answered your question. If not feel free to ask it again. Thanks for coming by!

Two 27” monitors horizontal? If one arm is straight out parallel with the desk you can bring the other monitor in a lot. If you pull one monitor more forward you’ll lose potential angle on the second. So as long as you’re cool with your monitor being toward the back of your desk you shouldn’t have any issues based on my understanding of what you look to accomplish.

I have table with back panel (T - shape) and 6 centimeters of space to screw hook. Is it enough?
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 6 лет назад
ranicuse are you saying your table has about 6 cm of over hang to clamp to? If so this would be just enough as long as you have a little more room on table surface. The surface part of clamp requires more inward area. Just make sure you table is solid. There is also the option to drill through anywhere on the surface and mount that way too.

It’s actually a Husky adjustable height workbench from Home Depot. Ran about $220 at time of purchase and is very stout. Comes with high quality casters as well as stationary feet to meet various requirements. I love them I bought 3. Only wish they were slightly deeper sometimes but the monitor mount used here helped free up considerable space. 24” deep.

JayP Tek thanks for responding, great video! Btw what would you search to find a monitor like the one you have sideways.
@JayPTek
@JayPTek 5 лет назад
Gunserrk Gaming any monitor with a VESA mount should work in that configuration provided the bezel isn’t huge. For esthetic purposes look for a monitor that has a symmetrical bezel design. I’ve had both a 27” and 23” monitor vertically mounted on this stand. The bigger the monitor the higher the arms will need to be on the post so keep that in mind if you have concerns for the height of your horizontal monitor from the desk.
@gunserrk
