Great video Richie, I used to live in Kamala around 6 years ago and it was pretty deserted compared to the other parts of the island. I was paying VERY cheap rent back then, Now living in Bangkok I quite miss the island life and looking at some places to use as a second base and was considering old town, Chalong, Rawai ( Try and be close to your cafe for my morning coffee and breakfast haha ). Great to see Maybelle looking well, keep up the great work guys!

Great Video Richie, I live in Chalong and i really like it :) I live on Soi Yot Sane on the way to Big buddha and would recommend it a lot, really love it lots of local restaurants and friendly people and its not too far from Kata. currently i'm in an apartment which i understand is not what you're looking for but have some friends living in a place called hideaway valley and they love it, I don't believe it's even on google maps but it's definitely a lovely place to live, and if you're lucky you can see Buddha from your window, which is a big plus for me :) i wouldn't rule out chalong as although some places are busy there are some places in chalong which are less busy

A good place for you guys to live is Patak Villa subdivision some good houses there and it's quiet. You would avoid Chalong roundabout getting to the coffee shop.
what a great video, I lived in Chalong, Kathu (golf course villa near the big chicken) and Wichit , while having two businesses in Patong in the 3 years I was there 2015-2018.I return at leat twice a year for a month but not Phuket. If you want cheap , go to north east coast of Phuket. Do not go to websites for property in Thailand , always boots on the ground, drive around and you will see for rent sign on the front wall/gate of a house with a phone number , thats what I did.
We are finding the Wichit area is very good. Not expensive here and we are in a gated complex so it's really safe. Very central so it only takes 25 minutes to reach a beach.
I want to retire in Thailand after I finish putting my boys though school . Really would love to leave the USA now . 😂 So I try not to even think about it because it is few off . Maybelle is glowing. You guys seem more relaxed . Great vid and info …

Great video….yes 100% stay away from foreign owned agent business. Long story short. Went to a Villa, we agreed to take it at the advertised price. Went to the agent office with the Thai sales person and the Thai sales person called the foreign owner from the office and the price confirmed. Paid the deposit. Move in date 1 week later. Get to our current home and 1 hour later the thai salesperson calls us and says sorry the boss changed his mind and increased it by 10k. The foreigner boss is an @sshole scammer period. Got our deposit back and that is the first and last time we will deal with a foreign agent. Thai direct is best. We lived in about 60 different places in Phuket.
So true. The bizarre attempted scams I've been subjected to by foreign owned agents in Thailand, all of which were illegal! And the extraordinary contracts that you are asked to sign - I kept highlighting all the clauses I'd never agree to and the scammer eventually said, "we couldn't enforce these anyway" - yes, that's because they're all illegal 🤬
You are properly best of finding a place in Rawai/Naiharn just up over the hil and back when going to and from work. And in regards to Thai or foreign agents. It's abiut if it's a Thai or a foreigner it's abiut to many people are freelance cowboys with no real clue about what they are doing and how the law works etc this is also why you are ending up with the issues from a contract there ain't really forfilled and sound like one of does bought at b2b shop. Guys; you need to be honest and sincere! Phuket is rammed of Russians right now... I understand that you have business over there but you still need to be honest otherwise I don't know..Russians are and will always be catering for Russinas....This is a fact, please let me know if i'm mistaking...
