Thank you for this very informative video I have a 2008 Ford Mustang Gt and it’s throwing the same code p0430 every so often … when I’m driving for a long period but if I idle no codes all day long …. But I have been thinking of just replacing them both with high flow smog legal ones… thanks again for the video

For those peeps who get this code after the fix, it'll be on there as a permanent code on the odb device. The car's computer will clear that code or codes on its own with the proper drive cycle test. I had to replace both converters and sensors on my ride. Permanent codes cannot be cleared by ODB devices. I got one to clear so far. I dunno if the permanent codes will give you a negative result on the emissions test, but if they mention it, you know why. For those looking for a simple odb, blue driver is a god send! Cheap and well worth the investment for novice mechs like myself! They have possible fixes, parts you'll need, videos, and a little section asking how you fixed it etc. They collect that data and share said data with other peeps that might have the same issue! The more ppl use the device the more vehicles are added! I highly recommend it! Great video gents!

I have 2002 silverado with p0430, changed all 02 sensors and MAF, did the drive cycle and got all monitors to clear but 10 minutes later cel comes back on with stored code p0430, tried cataclean 3 bottles tried duralube 3 bottles and now 3 bottles of CRC..crazy cause my truck runs so smooth. oh I'm in California and thinking of using the nonfouler on bank 2 sensor, will the technician look under my truck to inspect?

Yeah, had the code and still have the code after replacing both catalytic converters and new senors. Any ideas? Three different mechanics haven't fixed the problem on my 2007 FJ Cruiser.

I read that a leaky fuel injector can cause this issue.

I have a P430 code, replaced the cat and O2 sensors and it’s still present, monitoring it live shows the cat and O2 sensors are working within the parameters it’s supposed to but I still get a P0430 code 🤷‍♂️

I watched your video about the P0430 code but I have a question about getting that code because my bank 1 and bank 2 have different max thresholds. I'm thinking if bank 2 had the same max as bank 1 I would not be getting the P0430 code because bank 2 reading is always less than what the bank 1 max is when I get the code. I have a 06 F150 5.4 3v. Is it normal to have 2 different max thresholds? Thanks

Buy a "blue driver", itll tell you what catalyic converter is messed up. Itll show you the thresholds when the car is on, it even has a mode 6 (component system monitoring) so you can drive it around and itll collect the information live. Then again. Im just a novice, but helped me solve my issue. It helped me immensly. Then again I'm a noob mech. I hope u get it fixed on the cheaps breh.

I just replaced the cats on both sides and also replace all o2 sensors a month ago. But I still get the p0430 code and I still get the smell of fuel after driving on passenger side. Any clue what could be causing the problem still?

I got a p420 for bank 1. Would a bad cat cause misfires as well? If not what causes this is spark plugs have been replaced? Only other things I can think of is coil pack and or injectors. I had tried cataclean twice with no success.

I planning on changing my injectors. My mechanic told me there is nothing wrong with my catalytic converters. Something is causing the code to come on p0430 code. 02 censors are new and working. Car hesitates when I accelerate. All spark plugs and coils changed. Maybe the mechanic wrong could be the cat. I suspect my car getting bad gas mileage

Check your spark plugs and make sure the gap is right and the condition of the plugs on that bank

+Anonymous Thanks for watching! Unfortunately if someone is willing to go under your car with tools and cut out your converter, there is not much you can do as far as the vehicle goes. Keeping your car parked in a open, visible area might be a good place to start, but other theft deterrents will be helpful!

Some people weld chains to the pipe in front, and after, the converter. Type "catalytic converter anti theft" into the RU-vid search and see more ideas.

I'm working on the same problem right now in my 06 Silverado. Before I drop $700 on new pipes I'm using Cataclean. The first bottle made the time between lights longer so now I used second bottle and am waiting the results. Some people have said it works and other have said it doesn't work. I'm hoping that I'm on the does work fence.

I need your help man. I have 6.0 vortec Ina 1 ton chevy. My local shop and guy before me says cats are melted out. Trucks runs pretty good bur idles bad and isent 100%. I had the po430 420 codes. I got the mini cats to put on the post cat 02s. I definitely feel a difference and I don't have the po 420 430 codes. But!! I'm getting a closed loop fault. And 2 other codes pointing to bad 02s. Idk if thr mini cats are why it's saying there bad. The cats for this truck are discontinued. What should I do. I want to make it right. Or somewhat right. It's just a work/plow truck that just sticks around town. Do I just run it how it is? Get after market cats? What should I do? And yes I belive I did fix the reason the cats went bad. Guy I bought it from told a year ago it was misfiring. He drove it for over a year misfiring on 2 cylinders. The local shop and I figured that was the cause. That shop doesn't deal with exhaust work. Sorry for long read man idk how else to message you. Ty

Honestly I regret letting supposedly mechanic removing the original cats from my 07 Chrysler 300. They should have done a compression test by removing the o2 sensor

2005 Chevy Tahoe P0430 Both banks Cataclean Fuel system cleaner Fuel Injector Cleaner Gallon of Laquar Thinner Engine light still comes on and Emissions Readiness still an X!!! Evap also an X.

I getting the p0430 code and nothing is wrong with my cat. I replaced it last year. It says bank 2.and I changed my spark plugs,ignition coils.next I gonna check the fuel injectors.
