Aren't they something? One of the most compelling features of the Model T, IMO

I very much appreciate that you are not playing some god awful music in the background, and instead of continuous banter you stop and have silence while displaying parts of the car. What is hanging behind the dash? Well done. Thank you.
@flivverchannel

Thank you for watching. Behind the dash, is and unfinished, hopefully not too prominent, dual instrument cluster, for a couple of gauges to monitor engine and electrical status. Yet another unfinished piece of the puzzle.

Man! that's a great car! It's always a temptation to "improve" things but I think you have a great feel for what should be done and what should be left alone. All that's left to do now is stop by and give me a ride! 😆 Cheers

Nice job maintaining a truly historic car. I think those 30-31 wheels are designed to be supported by a brake drum.

Thanks for watching. I'm working on a video all about the decision to try the Model A wheels on the T. I will dive into the brake drum support issue...

Sorry the color wasn't forest green it was Balsom Green. Also I thinned it roughly 25% and used automotive paint reducer instead of paint thinner. Medium reducer was about right for the ambient temperature at the time

Thanks for all the info. I have some painting to do...so this is helpful!

Real nice! I have a ‘26 Roadster as well. I also have a ‘28 Sport Coupe that is that same color. It was restored that way, but I’m not sure that’s stock.

I believe Ford Channel Green continued into Model A production.

Great video. Nice to see your car close up. If you want paint for touch up take a chip of your paint about the size if a postage stamp to Home Hardware. They can scan it and give you a perfect match with their Beauty Tone Rust paint in gloss, semi gloss or flat. I took in the color chip for model A Ford Forest Green. Painted a test piece then when dry sprayed a couple coats of automotive clear. Thus protects it from UV rays and won't get chalky. After it dried i put the chip down on the paint. Perfect match. Hung it outside all winter and no change. Should last ok on vehicles used in summer. We're not out in salt and snow and these cars are not left out year round . A little less money than automotive paint.

You have a really nice, original late model T. The Model A wheels look a bit strange but i'm sure they drive better than the originals. Do you know anyone selling model T body plans ? I'm restoring a 1917 and am at that stage ... nothing in Lang's or Snyder but kits. Cheers !
@flivverchannel
@flivverchannel Год назад
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "body plans". Do you mean drawings and patterns for making your own body parts?

You also have diamond runningboards, which is a pick up item
@flivverchannel

Wow! Thanks for tellibg me that. That settles it. It was a pickup originally! Thank you.
@donniebrown-mv7hb
@donniebrown-mv7hb Год назад
All 26-27 cars and pickups had the same diamond running boards. The only difference is early 26 boards had large Ford script and late 26 and 27 had small Ford script.
@flivverchannel
@flivverchannel Год назад
@@donniebrown-mv7hb good to know. So the mystery remains... Was it originally a pickup?

My grandfathers has a bar going across his head lights on his 26 was that bar an option?
@flivverchannel
@flivverchannel Год назад
The headlight bar was added to the production car later in 1926. All 1927 cars had one too. It was also a popular accessory. I would like one...
@donniebrown-mv7hb
@donniebrown-mv7hb Год назад
The early 26 car and pickups had "footed" headlights and no bar. Then very late 26 changed to headlights mounted to a bar. There are accessory bars made that fit under the "footed" headlights. I have a extra accessory bar if you want to add the bar to your car car. car. car.
@flivverchannel
@flivverchannel Год назад

Is it positive or negative ground?
@flivverchannel
@flivverchannel Год назад
Model Ts are negative ground. Then, in 1928, the Model A was positive ground. Fords stayed positive ground into the 40s I think.
