I just love the mutual respect between the athletes in this. They switch between teaching and learning, but are always respectful. I just imagine them going out to drinks together afterwards.
I feel like Olivia and Kristen are so good at their own sports their bodies don’t know how to move any other way (Olivia was slightly awkward in the cheerleading video). I love how fearless and eager everyone is to try something new though.
@@TheNormalOddball This was kind of how I was when I was studying music in college as a violin major/cello minor and tried to take a guitar class-suddenly having frets was very confusing 😂
I love how even when they messed up they still gave them nothing but praise/positive reinforcement and good scores. In both videos, everyone was so professional and humble 🥺
One of my favorite things about this whole series is seeing how different athletes’ bodies can be. There are so many different ways to be strong. (Edited to fix typo)
I don't mean this in any leering kind of way but watching Joey's muscles move under his skin was so fascinating. He had to have like 0% bodyfat so every muscle was visible as it did it's job and it was so cool to watch! I can't imagine the time he puts into his craft to achieve that.
Love this combo! Looking forward to the divers keeping up with the cheerleaders! It will be really interesting to see how their dry land training translates to cheerleading.
As a dive coach I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this! I’ve also coached HS cheer and the strength these sports need are similar even if nothing else is. My team also LOVES Olivia 💚💚💚. She is the sweetest and such an amazing teacher
My fear with the hurdle on the board is that I'm going to slip off of the board. I know that they design the boards so that this is much less likely to happen, but that fear is still there. lol.
know this doesn’t really help, but after 6 years of diving, i’ve never “slipped” on any board. But I have scraped my feet up on the grip of the board, the stuff is no joke.
It's funny because you see how their bodies automatically react like they do in cheerleading and then they try to switch and do that little "aaah!" Before touching the water xD Kristen looked nervous but I'm sure if she gets comfortable she'll be amazing
I love seeing the confidence in both when teaching their sport but also the eagerness and willingness to try each other’s. You can definitely tell where they are most comfortable and confident
Haley rocked out following those instructions and transitioning well to dvivng! DJ was great too! But the actual divers, great teachers...beautiful to watch them in their craft🥰
what I love the most here is the fact that even if it doesn't go exactly the way they intended, they always find something to praise. that's super motivating and very kind.
I love to see how everyone is so encouraging and respectful of each other and how everyone's body shape, ethnicity and personality is beautifully unique. I'd love to see these same people teach the divers cheerleading!
My wife coached acro for a long time and many athletes retired and switched to diving for college so this was super cool to see some of the basics and how related it is in certain aspects.
Do y’all not know kory little says boing in his videos and he’s saying come on cheerleaders because those people are cheerleaders there trying out diving
I really wish this was a mini series! I love their rapport and would really love to see them in mock competitions with other “diver turned cheerleader” teams
If I knew how to hold my breath under water without using my hands, and how to open my eyes under water without the pain, that would be my first step in learning how to do this.
Ever since a friend of mine hit the edge of the diving platform when we were in primary school times I avoided those things like the plague. Respect to those mad people who dive )
So cool to watch this! I was a gymnast, and my mom did springboard diving followed by synchronized trampoline. This gave me a much better reference for her sport!
This isn’t even about how differently they’re shaped it’s about the sport This video has nothing to do with what you are saying They weren’t even comparing themselves to each other so your comment is kinda out of nowhere Of course their body differences are noticeable but definitely *NOT* the point of the video *at all*
I feel like it would be really cool to see lacrosse players. Lacrosse has a lot of similarities with other sports and quite a few unique characteristics so it would be cool to see
A short quick bust of air out of your nose as your face hits the water, will keep the water out of your nose. Practice off the board first, because you don’t want to blow out all your air, just a little and enough to keep the water out.
Loved this! But let's be real. Those scores were sweet but not accurate. Hayley won that hands down. DJ was so brave to go for a new dive and I thought he did a fantastic job. Kristen was so sweet but she was struggling and I don't know how folks were giving her a 9 or a 10. I'm super competitive but I know I would have earned a 0 and been happy with my little circle number because I'm scared of heights but at least it would have been fair.
The reason I use the flat hands over my head that monique talked about and not superman is to not slap the top of my skull against the water and let the hands take the slap
