John is the perfect cooking tv presenter. Never condescending, never a show off. Everything you really want to watch, and easy to follow. Somebody give him his own show..please
I did something similar with what I thought was mashed potatoes. I was at a buffet and got excited when I saw " mashed potatoes". Got to the table and took a big spoonful, turns out it was horseradish. To make matters worse I did not have anything to drink at the table yet...
i didnt catch the french phrase you said about having everything ready, but i do agree with it. whenever i'm cooking anything i always make sure that not only do i have all the ingredients ready, but that everything that needs to be measured is already measured.....and that i know the procedure.....and THEN i start.....
So I just made these, I tweaked the recipe amounts to suit my tastebuds. Prior to this recipe I was iffy on goat cheese but let me tell you, I’m a fan now! THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST DELICIOUS THINGS I’VE EVER EATEN!! 🤤🙌🏻
7:49 - Toum (Lebanese garlic sauce) does indeed look like really creamy mashed potatoes and yet...it's essentially pure garlic (with the addition of oil, salt. and lemon juice). I have a similar story when, at a dinner table, I took a large glass of what I thought was water and took a huge gulp. Turns out SOME people drink vodka out of cups and not shot glasses...Oh, it burned! ;) These look so good, John, I wish I could make these for my family!
Hi John I so love your channel. I've learned a lot from your videos. You inspired me to start baking ❤️ you saved me this quarantine. My family is surviving by selling cakes and I also created my own channel so I can track my progress and journey. Thank you for being generous in sharing what you know. ❤️ More power to you
Oh wow! John!!!! I use so many of your recipes and people LOVE LOVE LOVE them. My vanilla cupcakes are famous where I live. I credit you :) thanks for the great recipes
i looove choux pastry i always thought it was gonna be something so tricky to make until i did it for the first time and i love how versatile it is since you can fill it with whatever you want
JOHN!!!! I had a family tea party to have some fun during COVID and made the choix pastry! They were so good! We aren’t a fan of goat cheese so we filled ours with a salmon & cream cheese mixture. They were a hit! Thank you so much!

Hello from your fans in Canada! 🇨🇦☺️ Your such a joy to watch, and your recipes are divine. Would love to see if you could do a video on one of our national treasures BUTTER TARTS! It’s something we are all passionate about here and would love your take on to share with everyone else! Thanks.
My parents used to make Choux pastry to make crab puffs for Christmas, lovely Chocolate Eclairs, and cream puffs or as they say in Europe Profiteroles. We moved here from Britain when I was 3 years old, and my parents didn't care for American desserts so they made decadent European delicacies. Thank you for your wonderful explanatory videos. You must have been an awesome math teacher because although my parents baked wonderful desserts I could NEVER bake, ha, ha....everything turned out like concrete UNTIL I started watching your videos and following your directions. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I got my mixer in the mail and made your Chew Chocolate Chip recipe with toasted pecans, they are wonderfully rich with flavor.

Hi, John! Would you ever consider doing a gluten-free series? I have an intolerance and can't eat gluten without getting a migraine. Your content is wonderful and I am so grateful for the youtube algorithm. 👍💙
Hey, John! Those cheese puffs look absolutely delicious and I crave themmmm~ Anyways, I was wondering, have you ever made german crescent cookies, also known as kiflins? I'd love to see what you'd come up with for them! They're something my mom makes every Christmas and even her oma (grandma) made them. They're delicious!
Omg I've been waiting for a recipe like this! I LOVE CHEESE PUFFS! BTW made your potatoe salad the other day and OH MY GOD IT WAS DELICIOUS! Thank you for the wonderful recipes 💕💕💕.
You've become my go-to guy when it comes to looking for recipes! They always turn out great! I tried making pâte a choux dough a while ago, with a recipe I found in a book and it was.... not great. Maybe with your recipe it will work out this time around!!!
Thank you for sharing this recipe John! I absolutely loved making it. The taste was delicious but my choux pastry didn't rise as much as yours in this video. What could have possibly gone wrong?
Heyy John love your work!! That garlic thing you mentioned is called skordalia which is a Greek appetiser, you can have it by itself or with other foods.. I mild one is quite tasty...Greeks usually have it with cod.
