Cheetah Restoration - Grumman Style: Here is some view supplied photos that show them finding, transporting, stripping, painting their new Cheetah. Good Job by Andrew R on this save and rescue. Basic Steps:
Find it and buy it
Take apart and transport
Clean
Strip
Prep, primer, paint
Transport back to airport for assembly
Fly and enjoy

Enjoyed the video! We used to a own a 1979 Cheetah with the registration N26851. Based on the ‘N’ numbers, It was a close relative of the aircraft featured in this video! It was a wonderful airplane to own. Sadly it met it’s end when the new owner crashed into a 100 foot tall steel tower.

@@GrummanPilots I definitely think about our former Grumman often. We acquired it from the bank that held the loan when the original owner had to file bankruptcy. It had about 480 hours total time since new when we bought it in 1983 for $11,000. We ended up selling it for $18,000 in 1985 after my partner passed away suddenly.
