I think the sticks are unnecessary in the ice cream one, you could just make some large crepes and fold the ice cream and caramel in like a crunch wrap or something. Then you could drizzle on tempered chocolate, which would both look nice and ensure a better ratio. There's no way it hasn't been done before, though.

I've been waiting for a youtuber to talk about Chefclub! They are so ridiculous and I love it. Sometimes when I'm sad I go on Pinterest and scroll through all of their weird concoctions. My fav is that they have different language accounts for different regions yet people are always confused and angrily commenting "why is this not in English" on Chefclub Brazil. Or people talk about how this is totally a local delicacy but they made it weird and unappealing. It's a true treasure trove and never fails to cheer me up. Thank you for trying their absurd 'recipes'! Edited because I can't stop talking about Chefclub and my friends are tired of it: they made German Currywurst into a weird cake with fries that just looks like mush and called it a great family meal. Cue all of the salty Germans and confused Americans (why is it not in English?) in their comments.

The hotdogs look like they could be fun for a kids party, but that is about it. You would need to find a more efficient way to cut the hotdogs to make it worthwhile even for that though.

I do think the pancake one would be fun for a sleepover for some older kids

Chefclub makes me so mad. I see their videos on Facebook every now and then, and they look so professionally done, and they have those cute cartoons it makes me think even if the recipe is bunk, at least the final product will look pretty and it always always always looks bad at the end. It never comes together and I fall for it every time.

I think the hotdog and fries would've worked better with frozen french fries.

The potato chip omelette was a five minute crafts hack a couple years back. I remember Gloom, Azzy or Sniperwolf trying it out.

I’ve always thought the chef’s club content is 95% presentation. It works for people who are just consuming content without analyzing the actual logistics of something as horrifying as making a lincoln log hotdog house. BUT it is also incredibly entertaining because of such legendary moments as the whole block of cheddar inside of a turkey.

Kenji recommended this, and I have tried it. Using potato chips instead of sliced potatoes in a Spanish tortilla. Turns out pretty good, and a nice easy hack rather than using an enormous amount of olive oil to cook the sliced potatoes.

For slicing the ice cream disks, I think it would work reasonably well if you peeled off the carton first. As kids we used to do that with the old square cartons of ice cream.

The pancake icecream thing would be better imo if one was to use crepes instead of american style pancakes, spread the icecream on the crepe, roll it up, freeze and cover in thin coating of chocolate. should have evecything in proportion and be more or less handheld (ofc through a napkin or something)

My dad used to make potato chip omelettes but they actually worked because it was a handful of wavy potato chips filling a thin omelette (along with leftovers from the week) I'd call it a guilty pleasure but I have no guilt.

The trick is making pancakes, putting ice-cream on top and glazing it with caramel and chocolate. Then you can eat it with a knife and fork.

The egg omelette's in a bag is common I think? When we went camping we would do something similar with ziplocks and we called it "eggs up a river" for simplicity of trying to find where that phrase came from just look up bag omelette and you'll probably find it.

If you ever need to do the lincoln logdogs again you could use a cheese wire or similar wire instead of cutting the hotdogs with a knife.

As for cooking to create, I’d love to see you make recipes from @sortedfood. I would love to see you create the three recipes from one of their ultimate battles and give your verdict for a winner. Or, if you are looking for a vegan recipe that is Amazing, make their vegan KFC zinger. I have and it is utterly amazing.

I think "unnecessarily extra" is the best way to describe these videos. The omelette could be cooked in a pan or even in the oven and the sausages, well, there's plenty of creative ways to plate them without spending 2 hours carving them. Still, I appreciate that you try all these things so that we don't have to.

My god, Spaniard mediterranoid here and half the people in Spain consider the tortilla uncooked in the center food porn. Had an orgasm the two times you cutted and egg flowed out. Actually Ferran Adrià has a quick tortilla with bag chips too, and it is fairly nice and very very quick. PS: chickens are vaccinated in the EU so Salmonella is not really something to worry about if eggs are in the fridge at home, but follow your local Public Health recomendations on eating raw egg.

The moment that hot dog Lincoln Log house premiered on Facebook, I knew it was a flop. They'd tried to build an entire log cabin with a roof and it had obviously collapsed, so they salvaged it by filling it with fries. Frankly, Cheeto Turkey convinced me to never watch any Chefclub videos. So far I haven't regretted it.

The effect with the runny egg is one that people attempting to make a special Japanese omelet would kill for. I just forgot the name. About to Eat filmed it, if I remember correctly. Chefclub, as weird as it sounds, is not like 5-minute-crafts. They may be weird, but not dangerous.
