David, bayashi tv made a chicken cheese curry tomato pasta and it rocked my world. Maybe the best pasta ive ever had. It may spit in the eye of Japanese and Italian folks everywhere but it's insanely good. Try it out! Appreciate you dude and looking forward to the apples.

Put the cream (a mix of heavy cream and sour cream to get the consistency you want) into one of those plastic squeeze bottles. Put a little plastic wrap on the top, screw the lid on, and store it upside down in your fridge. That will make topping soups, etc much easier to control and look pretty.

Underrated place I use apple is thinly slice baked on top of pizza, I like to use that with ham instead of pineapple and ham. In my head I call it the luau.

For anyone who, like me, is _also_ scared of the mandolin, they make some pretty solid standing ones with feed chutes that are a bit more of a pain to clean, but remove 95% of the threat of losing a piece of your finger in the process of slicing something off in their use.

❤👍 One of the best apple recipes/apple pies I ever had was one I saw and made from a recipe in Yankee magazine in the late 1980s. It had a nice flaky crust (standard pie crust except with egg yolk and a touch of vinegar), and the filling was apples, cranberries, sugar, and cheddar cheese. So good. A little chopped apple is nice in chicken curries and rustic chicken or beef stews or roasts. That sandwich!

If you aren't sick of apples I have another fantastic apple sandwich for you. French baguette, sliced and toasted topped with thinly sliced green apple (or any very crisp apple) and brie. Drizzle with a little honey and sprinkle thyme if you like. You can really get creative with it, pairing with other fruit like pears, adding roast chicken or turkey and arugula for more of a meal or adding a smear of preserves!

Curious about the caramel, I may pick one up! I hope it's good, I've had some that have a pecan taste (looking at you, Hershey's) instead of caramel, so I'm hoping its good! Smuckers also has a non salted option, maybe have to try out both eventually

Barely 1 minute in and I miss NY so much (upstater here, but still). I moved to the UK and the first time I went looking for apples and there were like, only two named cultivars and the rest were all just labeled "British Apples" I had some major culture shock. I miss my Empire apples so much, and they are in season now.

We have amazing apples here in the UK but you have to go to proper farm shops for some of them. Cox and Cox’s Orange Pippin are great, but Russet are my favourite. They have a rough greenish brown skin - not shiny at all, and they’re pretty firm. They are sweet and tart, but have such a beautiful strong appley flavour. Discovery apples are also amazing. Very small but again a strong sweet and tart flavour. The last two are really hard to describe but they’re nothing like the usual apples you get in supermarkets. They’re only found at proper market stalls and farm shops.

Hey David. You're stepping in line with the dozens of top food creators, who admit to being terrified of the mandolin and even telling your viewers to wear a glove, but not doing it for some reason. Please normalize cut resistent gloves when using mandolins. Not unlike you, I severly injured myself with mine, after which I picked up some protection gloves for under 5 dollars, which saved my ass a few times since. Theyre inexpensive, theyre avaiable, it literally takes three seconds to put them on.

I was also noting all of the work they do, to make it seem easy and fun. Those pumpkins did not grow where they sat, and they did not come into the world vine-free. The maze was hand tied, and the pathways hand mown and cleared. I couldn’t help noticing there were no other people around. Perhaps a slow day, or the slower hour? I only saw what I was shown, but it looked to me like a lot of work goes into that experience that you will never see. Just a thought.🫶🏻🫶🏻💋
