It's is remarkable how the quality of NYC has gone down tremendously since the pandemic..while prices and rent continue to skyrocket..I feel like we won't see a difference in years probably a decade...

The red sauce is very easy to make. It is mostly made with ketchup and caramelized onions.

What type of dogs do the papaya places use? Do they all use the same brand?

I mail order in Hofmann, and Sabrett hotdogs. I can duplicate anything I have seen so far. I have been told by New Yorkers that only tourists at Coney Island eat Nathan’s dogs.

I agree about the Chelsea area. Hopefully it will not turn into what the Bowery once was. Anyway, Chelsea Papaya is a better spot for a hot dog in that area. And for 3 bucks? A lesser quality vendor will rob you for more.

It's a shame the state of this city... I worked St. Vincent's until they closed, it was always rough, but nothing like now man. It'll be a decade before we rebound.

Hey Chris, really surprised how down trodden that area is, what a shame from what I remember of Chelsea, what’s a polish dog compared to a normal, I’m sure I’ve had a polish dog somewhere in Chelsea before.

Chicago is way better. Their hot dogs or whatever food they offer is better and it costs less. Be wise America, go to Chicago instead. NYC is overrated.
