My eldest daughter turns 40 in June. She hoards chocolate covered cherries at Christmas time. I know what I'm making for her cake this year!

I never got compliments when I was growing up. But at about age 7 I got to go out of state to my great grand parents one time. She was making a cake with me let me lick everything clean. Then told me I was the best cake batter licker she ever seen. I'm 51 and still remember that. I still lick the spoon even though now they say don't cause of the raw eggs. I crack up everytime I hear your hubby in the background.

To this day I still do. my boys would fuss out who would get the bowl and beaters.the first time my granddaughters had a beater it was just plain hilarious

In NC we have been making this cake for decades using Cheerwine (NC made black cherry 🍒 soda). It’s sooo good!!

I enjoy seeing your recipes. I'm an avid Baker, as well. One great tip I learned in a Wilton's class is, when preparing the pan, to spray probably half of what you're spraying, then use a pastry brush to spread it around and coat the nooks and crannies. You'll likely find your can of spray lasting a bit longer. 😉 😁🥳
