There sand sharks thick if you put them back there be more. fish shops used sell them rock salmon there are old people that would be please with a bit of fish. Or hard up
Nice to see some fish Tom and we all no that chesil beach is like that sometimes expecting a cod or a nice ray but left scratching our heads and it looked cold. Very good to watch so well done to you. 👍
Fished jan 15th at ferry bridge really hard going. 5 rods out between 2 , whole squid&black pennels. Plus 2 hook scratching rigs out with rag tipped with squid . 5.hours and a bit later we had our first bite, ending up with 3 pout in total over 9 hours. But hey its still January 😂👍.
Well all I can say is that a slow day at Chesil looks better than a good one at many other venues and you sell it well my friend... C'mon the Westerly Winds 🐟🐟🐟
Lovely video again Tom I always enjoy your banter and humour. Happy new year I am hoping to get down your way in February for a spot of dangling!! All the best cheers Ian
Hi...a very enjoyable watch. Where did you get the bait tray...totally awesome! I'm off to Chesil next week can't wait to just get out there. How i get to same part as you are ...well that I don't know. Hope its not a long hike from parking? All part of the fun aye not knowing what to expect. Only been to Chesil once last year caught a conger ...yuk & slimy ! Was at the other end of beach... was like hiking up Mount Everest 😂 Anyhow, hope I don't get a Blank 🤷
The "mountain" of shingle at the Portland end is a killer!!! This video was at West Bexington, I walked west from the car park a bit. The bait tray is my favourite bit of kit! It's here: christchurchanglingcentre.co.uk/accessories/bait_stations/stonfo-bait-station-en/
Brill...Thank You for info looking forward to getting that bait tray & stand. If you try other end of Chesil... its a case of lets brace the 100 ft high huge pebble mountain with all my kit 😲
Ha ha, I'm sure you haven't mate. They're very rare. Yeah, I need to fish chesil more. I never seem to enjoy it there, but know the potential for a good session is there.
Not as much as I'd like. I love the rivers in the last few weeks of the season though. I did plan on doing a bit of chubing this winter, but the conditions have been mostly pants! I used to fish for the grayling on the Frome too, but haven't done that since pre covid times.
If chesil disappoints there is always the sunsets, much more reliable! Have you changed your casting style in recent times? When punching it out you seem to use the pendulum style nowadays..
Yes, the sunsets are far more reliable than the fishing! lol I sometimes give it a bit of swing when I'm on shingle, using grip leads and don't have the room for a proper OTG. That and I'm getting lazy! lol
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 we are lucky to have so much on our doorstep! Chesil is just a right of passage as a fisherman. 80% off fish caught at Chesil are just haul and winch.. hope to see you get a 5lb + bass off the beach on your barbel rod!
