Today we are hitting, Chest, Upper Back, Shoulders and Triceps. The main focus is Chest. We are in the cut, so we are really focused on work capacity and bulletproofing my connective tissue. We're using bands and rings to make lighter weights feel insanely hard. We've got banded dumbbell press, ring dips, ring flys, ring push-ups and more in today's workout.

What is the maximum amount of weight you can carry with a vest? I wish I had a brother to train with.

This vest can carry a max of 55lbs, it's been great, but I do wish I had gotten one with a higher weight capacity. It's super versatile though, awesome for building work capacity and adding weight to calisthenics. It's funny my brother lives about a 5 minute drive from me, and we never train together. He owns his own business and works like crazy, but I have great memories of training together when we were younger. 🤜🤛

Hey man, what are those hooks you are using for the dumbbell bench at the beginning ? I’m looking at getting some Keep up the great work! You are an inspiration. Fellow dad here with 2 kiddos

Awesome man, always nice to hear from a fellow dad who's working hard in the gym while raising kids. 🤜🤛 Thank you for your kind words, I'm thankful if I can be an inspiration to anyone. The Hooks are called "mad spotters", they've been great. Mine are version 1 and they are good for pro style dumbbells but too wide for nuo Bells and some other adjustable dumbbells. Version 2 is supposed to have fixed that and had a few other small tweaks. Do you have a home gym?

Ok thank you so much! Yes I agree, it’s hard to stay in shape without kids but harder when you have kids and family time. I started my home gym about 1 years ago and I love it! I can blast my music and grunt when I need to lol. I don’t have much fancy equipment but I have all I need 👌

@wesrobinson7506 I think having a home gym is the best, especially when you have kids. It doesn't take a ton of equipment to get in an amazing workout. I've gone a little crazy 🤣 with equipment, but it's my main hobby/ entertainment. Enjoy the workouts and more importantly enjoy your kids. 💪 Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, I appreciate it.

@@buildingdadbod2.0 that’s for sure especially if the kids take a nap and your spouse has to work, you can squeeze a workout in. I lift in the mornings so I can get a quick workout in before everyone wakes up. Yes, it can be addicting lol. I got half rack, cable system to attach to half rack, land mine attachment, and a couple different handles. I also have adjustable dumbbells and two different benches so I guess I’m not that much of a minimalist lol. Do you think the spotters are worth it? I like to do dumbbell press, I have low back issues and hoisting the weights up can aggravate it - especially since I have plate loaded DBs with 1” bar

@wesrobinson7506 My girls are older now so the biggest perk is that they sometimes come out to the gym and work out with me. Sounds like you have a solid setup. I do think the spotters are worth it. I had my lower back fused and for quite a while picking up dumbbells off the floor was miserable, so it's nice that way to only pick them up once to get them on Hooks. I think the part I like even more about them though is you can get your back and shoulders set before you unrack the dumbbells and start in an optimal pressing position, just like you do with a barbell.
