I just brought my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4 in today- 52,000miles (7/22/19). Warranty was extended to 72,000 miles for my vehicle, so the vacuum pump and belt were replaced for free. When I brought it in, I referred to the TSB# PIT5361C. He checked my vehicle for mileage and to make sure it wasn't a junked title. It all checked out. Glad to not have to pay, but after watching this video I was excited to give the swap out a try. Great Video, Thanks.

Awesome tutorial video! I have a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT. My brakes started feeling hard at slow speeds last night & It took some pressure to get the truck to stop. Took it to a brake shop with many locations where I live. Was told they had to replace Vacuum pump, brake booster and Master Cylinder for $1800. Dealer had no recalls on issue. But they did have the part in stock. $247 later, and the truck is braking just fine now. Thanks for the video 👍

Great video. When you remove the vacuum pumps do you see any of the oil getting into the vacuum side.?. My truck 2017 GMC 1500 was diagnosed for having a foreign fluid in the braking system which cause them to want 2 replace the entire brake system. Does this sound right

Having similar issues with my 2016 Malibu, sometimes the brakes lock up at low speeds too. Do the Malibus have these pumps as well?

The GM bullitin calls for brake master cylinder and hoses . Do i really need all that. i was backing my boat up and almost went in the lake when i realized my truck had this issue., Brakes work fine other then that. 2016 silverado

Checked code in my truck for a engine light on and it says low vacuum at brake booster. Is the pump the problem you think? or the booster? Mine is a 2014 Silverado, and some times its super soft and others the pedal is hard.

Experienced the hard pedal in a parking situation twice, tw weeks later I get the recall notice for the "reprogramming" for the brake system. I told them I expereienced the brake issue reported at the dealer but all they did was the reprogram. A week later I experienced the hard petal again twice in a parking lot. Took it back to the dealer and they will replace the pump and booster if needed at no charge. After talking with them the reprogram was intended if you never experienced the hard pedal issue before (just a precaution they do the reprogram). They should of swapped my pump the first time but oh well. Was told pump etc/costs was covered under a special adaption to the reprogram recall (up to 70k miles I believe) since I was actually experiencing the problem. Take yours in if you fall under the coverage..IT WILL FAIL eventually. Tell them your having the issue before its on your dime to replace. Great video, I was acually gearing up to swap it my self if the dealer was going to charge me.

2014 chevy silverado Mine has the v6 mine was 13 mm bolts i put a new one on mine but my brake booster is out they sell a tool for the stretch fit belts it works but I got stable trac on and abs on any help and code po57c

This is probably something we should all do, as preventative maintenance, if you own one of these overpriced piles of junk. I mean after you replace your AC condenser as well. Oh and while your at it, throw out those 2014 GMC headlights too.......sigh

I just had my 16' GMC Sierra fixed under the recent recall and they said all they did was to reprogram the brake control module. .. I wonder if thats just gonna be a temporary fix?

I started to to have problems with my brakes . So i took it to the dealer they just did an software update to the brakes . It work fine no but I noticed the only on hill the the brakes , not work properly. I have to press hard and the brake pedal vibrates like it the tire were lock up . But it only happens on low speed. I was like F the dealer I’ll replace this shit my own . So I went to autozone and boom they don’t even have the vacumm pump in their system . And then I went to O’relly, they do have the pump on the their system, but the dude told me they have to place an order and then call customer service in other to get the part. Basically they gotta ask GM for permission to sell the part . I believe it was an ACdelco . So i guess GM dont want acdelco to be selling those parts. Lucky I found one on amazon on this video link lol ... thank bro!!!!
