Chevrolet Trailblazer: Add A Cabin Air Filter How-To Hack

The later Chevy Trailblazer had the OEM Cabin Air Filter deleted by GM. All you have to do is find a door from an early model in the junkyard, cut a hole in your dash and there you go. Follow these steps to learn how - enjoy!

Yes , thank you for making this video ,have an 07 and we spent 20 mins looking for the cabin filter behind the glove box , under the dash etc only to turn to the interwebs for some guidance and found this video . Very helpful and informative.

Thanks for making that video my wife's car has a 2002 Trailblazer and I opened up that door and there was no filter in it whatsoever a lot of debris from seeds and leaves and all sorts of stuff but it does take two filters because when I opened up mine there was none there at all so I appreciate you making a video

Best tool to cut with is a heated foam cutter.

Nice vid. I did this on our 07 Envoy. GM should have kept these things in, because it does help with dust, debris, and keep the ac system clean. I like the idea of using a knife, but I used an oscillating tool for more control.

Just got an 02 Envoy. It didn't have any cabin filters installed. Not sure if I should bother putting some in. Fins seem to be getting some buildup of debris so maybe it would help that? Is that the heater core? Thanks to anyone who chimes in...

I don't have any long term test results to report, but my heater is keeping up fine here through the cold weather with the filters in.

Please post what year(s) and model will have used trap door cover with screw needed for the correct fit.

From my knowledge, the early Trailblazer had these only. I am not for certain though. TG Creative was 3D printing doors as well, which is a nice little option if you don't want to junk yard search.

Wonder if this is just from 2007 on or in certain models. From what I gather, most parts are the same in 02-07, but lots of things changed after that.

Duct tape makes job looking for parts a thing of the past. Zip ties and duct tape. True miracles i keep on hand

@@RubberCityMotoringoh man and I just put 2 and 2 together. Rubber city. I was thinking isn’t that Akron OH. I live really close to ya! About 15 mins south. C. Fulton. Keep up the vids man!! Been really getting into doing work on my TB. Im doing as much preventative maintenance on it as much as I can. Only got 130k on my 05 LS. Them straight 6s are super reliable as long as it’s well maintained. Have a great Sunday!
