Thank you. A major shop quoted a lot to replace that line. If this were strictly my car, I'd definitely do this myself. I'm confident I could, after watching this. Since it is on my wife's car, it's a whole lot smoother if I just have a mechanic do it...but we'll sure get another estimate. I can see where oil is collecting a place that catches a bit of oil before it can spill onto the ground, down below the end with the "O" ring. When I take a rag and feel around where that end is mounted, oil gets on the rag, so I think that's the issue. One odd thing is that the line looks like the replacement in this video and looks nearly new...I need to figure that out.

This video is so helpful. I have a 2012 chevy cruze that had an antifreeze leak so I took it to the dealership and they replaced my water pump as part of a recall. However they told me I had an oil leak and said it would be over $1300 to fix everything. They said it was leaking the worst in the oil feeding line and wanted to charge me $222 just to fix that. They also said I needed to replace the oil pan, the valve cover, as well as the trans cooling line. I looked up the part for the feeding line and saw it was a little over 20 bucks and am so glad I told them not to touch any of those parts leaking oil. I don’t know much about fixing cars but I feel confident after watching this video that I could change this part and literally save myself hundreds of dollars so thanks for posting!

Wow, that simple? I do have the same problem with my chevy cruz 2012. Now am just going to find the part and put it on. I've been putting oil for almost 2 months now. The greatest threat to a car engine is salt placed on roadways during winter. Salt rust out lines causing leaks, you can see the effects on the motor itself.

I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze that is throwing a P0299 code that signifies under boost. I do not have oil build up around the feed line where you state the o-ring has gone bad but I do seem to have oil below that as well as the front of my motor. Could I possibly have the same issue going on or would you expect to have a large oil build up around the end of the line?

ENGINEER NOTES - 2022 Part # 25200947 -- PIPE ASSEMBLY- DUE TO A DESIGN CHANGE, USES SINGLE SEAL AND REPLACES SOME DESIGNS WITH TWO SEALS. Replaced on my wifes 2016 Trax. Local Chevrolet dealer had numerous in stock for about $50. Not much more than autzone. Autozone versions tend to leak. Total install time took less than an hour.

Hey Chad I have a problem with my 2011 Chevy Cruze. Ik it's only a Eco friendly 1.4l turbo but I added a K&N intake, and deleted the resonator and muffler for a straight pipe. Car responded differently, definitely had more push to it. My problem is with a oil leak. Most days are good, but once in a while if I'm driving a bit hard to get somewhere I noticed oil guck all over around the oil cap area and leaking down into the engine. I think it's not 100% sealed. Had a guy look into it, he found a tad bit of oil inside the tube that leads from the Turbo into the engine, its located near the oil cap. I recently wanted to grab a trifecta tune because I was thinking, "Is there to much air flowing through this tiny 1.4l???." Not sure if the tune would calibrate the differences. The mechanic told me there might be to much air pushing which is causing oil to spread throughout the engine. Need some advice on what to do. Car has 93k miles, trans and oil is changed recently. I frequently do well in shifting but sometimes it revs funny. I always take care of the car, wash it every week, change the tires, brake pads, fixed dents, paint chips and do regular maintenance. Only thing is, yes I put it in manual mode sometimes to get that "feel" but shift properly always. Gunned it a few times here and there to merge into the highway. Honestly I really am trying to sell it, I want to upgrade to either a Audi S5 2011 or an Mercedes C 63 AMG 2009. The car is almost paid off. I bet I can get at least 4-6k with the shape it's in. What do you also reccomend when selling it? I have plasti dip on the emblems, side mirrors, back bar, rear lights are actually tinted black.Also should I get rid of the intake and muffler before selling it or could i potentially sell it to a young kid?Car is a sleek silver which catches the eye of young highschool kids. Especially if their dad is looking to buy them their first car, I think it would easily sell to a Teen. Thanks CHAD!

I just got done doing this but the banjo bolt on mine wasn’t coming loose so I sprayed a little bit of wd40 to get it to come loose (probably not the brightest idea I’m aware) and then I replaced it and now when I start my car it’s starting to smoke from either behind or underneath the exhaust manifold, anyone have any suggestions/ answers?

Do not buy an after market replacement! They are about a 1/4" too long. I saw a video where a guy pried his into place but that's a shaky proposition considering angle, undo pressure on the right side of the "O" rings etc. Mine also came with a banjo bolt that didn't have the proper threads. That could have been a nightmare for someone had they tried forcing it with a socket. It was $10 cheaper than the Dorman, which according to the pry guy, he had changed out at other times with no issues and no need to force anything. Very easy job apart from that. I put my old one back in and yes, one of the o-rings was flattened out slightly. Now I wait for the Dorman to get here.

61k miles Cruze. Feed line clog. Dead turbo.

Yeah it's a good idea to replace that line ever 50K miles or so anyway. I have done a lot of turbos on these engines. In every case that line gets plugged up solid with carbon from the oil and starves the turbo of oil. The turbo on one of these is expensive. About $900 for aftermarket turbo or $1700 for OEM turbo, plus all the bolts that hold it to the head are Torque to yield, the plastic drain tube will crack and you need to replace to coolant lines behind the turbo, or they will start leaking shortly after. Plus while you have the turbo off you may as well do the seals on the oil cooler that live underneath there. All in all with labor I charge about $2000 for aftermarket or $2800 for OEM replacement of a turbo on these. Just replacing the line every 50K miles will prevent that from happening.

Good video, it's actually and E10 torx socket. Be careful not to over tighten them, they're delicate and break easy. Just get it snug, test it, and if need be tighten a bit more.
