I would like to thank you for your video because my car was stuck for a whole week, and thanks to God and your video, my car is now working. Thank you.
This video was such a comprehensive approach to any issues you could possibly have between the key and the starter relay. Super thankful, this helped me get my truck going. Also that paper clip trick is gangster! Love it!
I watched your video helped me a lot. I tried your diagnostics everything checked good. Then I was looking at the fuse box under the hood again I see there is ign a/ign b fuse. I pulled ign a fuse checked with my dmm set on ohms I wasn’t getting anything. So I pulled the blower fuse out it’s the same 40 amp put it in the ign a guess what Denali fired right up. Thanks for your video.
Enjoyed your education I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe I just put a new ignition switch in and it's not starting. A year ago the ABS light came on in the air quit felt like it was dragging and I put a new relay switch in and it went off and it works for a year she's doing it again just put an ignition switch in today not the problem you think it's in the under the hood module or in the fuse box
Thank you so much for making this video My son and I had just stopped one of our tiedowns came off and we were in a bad place to stop next to a busy highway downtown Kansas City this video called a relay to the wire truck started up we’re on our way to get a new freeway right now thank you a bunch bunch
This was well done and helpful, but for those (like me) who thought it was not the battery after jumping it and still not getting it to start: It still might be the battery as it was with mine. You have to actually INSTALL a new/good battery, NOT just jump it - that will not work. After viewing a dozen videos and forums that's what I finally found out from my shop. I believe them because any other problem with the system would have cost more to fix. The explanation from the shop is that it has to do with the computers and complexity of the charging system, and the need for direct cable connections. Jumper cables do not provide the necessary power feed.
I have a similar experience so I've been starting it bystarter relay uncap and smashing the trigger long story short i ran a Grown wier in the truck to a start up my dash lights up I've no signal but i got flashers 😢 i just need to know if you know why i have power in the switch but still cant crank I only can crank by the starter relay the key shuts it of but dont start
car is being towed AGAIN as we speak and has been in the shop 3 times and everything checked out - I will be so happy if I can fix it myself as I know it is going to be something stupid as I have already replaced a battery (twice) and a new starter and new battery cables . Car starts fine and then out of the blue no start and no crank and then you go out the next day and BAM starts for another week without problems
I now the is old but... it's not staying on because you need to turn the key to start the motor position like crank how you we doing when You were testing it. I know because I had to do this myself. Drove me crazy lol
so with the sam problem I dot have signal but I got hazed also my ac 5 high didnt work but function did return I can't start the truck unless I run a ground from my relay😢 the key power up all cycles but dont engage 😮😢have you ever seen it happen !?when you respond I'll tell you more bout what I did
bc of high volume of work i havent checked that fuse box so far on a non start condition ( 03 silverado 6v) but i will; the pcm ground wire or the ignition switch some times goes crazy on these systems as well - but so far its not clear what you did w/ the pink wire in fuse box = did you by pass it from the pink wire on steering wheel to the same wire on fuse box or simply you just by pass the pink wire on a brokem wire at the fuse box? and what about the safety neutral switch or its that same wire? 🥞 👁 any input will be highly apreciated - in my case the dash doesn't illuminates and there are no gauge signals sometimes and no crank signal to starter but theres a crank signal from terminal C at steering wheel (ign switch is new and $20 of gas is in the tank) 💔 🚧 thanks in advance👍
When you started the car with the paper clip, does that mean the starter is bad or good? Or is it the relay fuse. I am having the same issue. I used the paperclip method and started my truck right up. But I just want to make sure what part I exactly need to replace. Thanks!
I have a 2001 Tahoe and I have a yellow, orange, and gray wires that are like this and I wired them back to their colors and my truck still won't start but my music and everything else comes on
U1041 is the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), not Engine Control Module. Giving bad info. Also, you jumped from checking the neutral safety switch under the vehicle to the problem being solved; a broken wire under the fuse box. Many skipped steps.
Thanks for the video My 04 2500hd have the same code but it starts and runs rough with the ENGINE POWER REDUCED message. I noted that the left side low headlight is dim. I’ll check the grounds first.
@@JaboTheMechanic if I start the truck at night time the headlights came on and the truck runs rough (Engine power reduced) if I disconnect the battery negative post and start the truck during day time without using the turns signal, hazard or lights it runs great. I’m out of ideas. Any suggestions. Thank you

Can reduced engine speed cause your truck 03 Tahoe not to start usually I can pull over turn key off then turn it on and starts up sometimes I have to wait a few minutes but now it didn't bought new battery worked 2 days now says battery is fully charged but won't start sometimes lights come on sometimes they don't checked fuses relays could it be loose wire
@@JaboTheMechanic interesting, I have an 07 classic 6.6 duramax and I have the U1041 code, I was thinking maybe wiring or ground issue because my truck starts up fine.
