Looking for a cheap condo in Chiang Mai Thailand? Today I go to look at a newly renovated small condo apartment in a great area of Chiang Mai. The building is not the newest but the rooms are all getting newly renovated. I take a look at 2 finished condos, ready for purchase, and also a condo that's still not finished. I also take a look at an older condo room that's available for rental. You can find some great deals on Condos in Thailand.

20 years since I first went to CM, and been living here for 7 years. Yet I still haven’t heard a good argument to persuade me to buy. I have a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom detached house with a big garden……11,000 baht a month on a three year, one year rolling contract.suits me fine.

didn't know long term rent contracts possible. Presumably you secure lower rent for 3 years compared to yearly, but rolling year contract allows you to break and leave?

@@flighteye6642 yes, it was 14,000 a month…contracts can mostly be negotiated with the owner. In general Thai’s love having cash up front. However you must have the contract properly drawn up, for your own sake.

Well, if you knew you'd be renting for 7+ years then it would make sense to buy it, I guess? If your rent is $3600 a year, for 7 years it's $25200.

The never-ending life of construction 🤣 I'll never forget Christmas Day. I was looking forward to peace & quiet & there was construction noise all day. 🙉 Electricity in the older apartments are generally cheaper, which makes a huge difference. I looked into buying property in Chiang Mai, it was relatively straightforward. Foreign ownership is 49%, money needs to be made outside of Thailand & a FET form was required. Watching your videos really makes me miss Chiang Mai. Hope you're staying safe. 🥰

Its great "we" can buy a condo in Thailand. I really love when on a pension. But for now i still love to travel. End november Samui leaving half jan to Hoi An for 3 months and back to Samui gor a month. 6 months abroad 6 months Dam do for me now. Thanx for sharing mate!

Hi Wayne my wife said that was once a Hotel. Baan Grung Thai ,,,,That noise made me smile as the condo we owned always had all that type of renovations noises. I think they were allowed everyday 8-5 it can get on your nerves after awhile!

Wayne's world! I want to come join you brother I am done with living in the US I saved my whole life and didn't make it big I bought a house on the Kern River in CA but my fiance left me and took the kid after giving my life to her family taking care of her grandma,her handicapped sister,put up with her constantly drunk mother and abusive step father and now I am ready to start life over,I may sell my home I get SSDI so I have income I just want out I'm so depressed as of now dealing with betrayal issues and all that everyday is a struggle I'm a good hearted good looking man for my age and time is wasting away I need to be so distracted right now so I can start living again😊

Probably best to get a lawyer, or someone who knows about the ups and downs of purchasing a house in Thailand. Many things to look out for. Thank for watching.

with the economy in bits its only going to get cheaper ive been looing at rental investments here in Hua hin the prices of the ones i looked at have come down in price but i would have to be a real bargin for me to go for it.i'm happy renting my three bed for 9k a month is a bargain and i love having my own garden and carport .take it easy mate

HOA fees in Thailand are ridiculously cheap, my friend in Bangkok pays a few hundred a year, that is it!! Not even a consideration

exactly how I feel, if there is construction I just move, things can turn bad in any big building at any time, if you own your stuck, can be very difficult to sell in Thailand especially if there is criminals etc, always rent!!!

First impression - that's a butt ugly building Wayne. Mind you it is amazing value if you are on a budget. It's not too far from the old city. Those places would definitely suit a lot of people. Good to see another part of CM I hardly ever visited.
