great selection of very affordable places....maybe not in everyones favourite street address ....but you get what you pay for at the budget end. I think people kinda tend to over think it. These are condos that cost less than a Honda civic which you will loose 50% on in 5 years. You can have a vacation home or a place to live in Pattaya and it probably won't loose as much as you would loose on a new car. And if your income drops or currency FX go against you you will always have a place to live for Civic money or you can rent it out. IMO it's "just not that big of a deal".
I think similarly, it takes inflation out of your accommodation costs. If you buy at the right price you are also unlikely to ever lose out. Cars over your lifetime are one of the biggest expenditures 🙏🙏
Excellent video. Crammed with really useful info for anyone looking for a bargain. The Rimhad seems to pop up with some cheap units for anyone liking that area. Not surprised the Sands condo sold, real gem of its kind.
Yes Keef, Rimhad, Majestic, Baan Suan Lalana all seem to offer great value. I could have made a two hour video on these, but hopefully for those who don't want to spend too much on accomodation it will give them a starting point. 🙏🙏
I stayed at the niran condominium many years ago in the big building at the end , my friend owned a couple of condos , I really enjoyed the experience, a couple of swimming pools to choose from , 6000 baht a month at the time , I don’t know what it’s like now , thanks for the reviews dave 👌
Bugger me David just seen flybird condominium on your vlog where my wife and I own a room there on the 5th floor we paid £4200 its not big but its a large room 3 in 1 you could say lounge, kitchen, bedroom separate wc and balcony for the weed plant lol ,also just started renting a room on the ground floor in the same building for the wife's little side line costing 6000thb per month, keeps her happy pop in next time you're passing ask for Klaiwan and have a few drinks on us if you could plug her tiny venture 👍 👍 👍
I love the pool are I'm a fan of these older places this area is as much as Pattaya as Pattaya central plenty happening some of the condos have been done up nice I would there part of the year
Nothing wrong with Nirum, great community, around working class people mix thai farang, great community sense. Something you can not found in high end condo resorts.

Can you make a video about the cost for renovating a condo. Ex. install a waterboiler, cut out for water and exit water outside the toilet, repare a refrigerator or tv. extra eletric sockets, paint walls and so on. Just smal stuff you need help with buying a condo
Very hard to do, first you need to find a tradesman, and they are all different costs and quality. Most condo's do not have boilers, just instant shower heaters for bathroom and kitchen. All the other things external to your room walls belong not to you, but the condo building. Lastly things like TV and fridge repair, for in situation Numchai do a call out service. For small items I use a wheelchair bound guy, trained at father Ray's, who fixes things like fans, small TVs and the like 🙏🙏
I think one of the nicest I saw was cozy beach The peak Towers building A. 43 sqm 13 th floor on the Jomtien side. Great views and at that time about 2.8m 🙏🙏

I want a nice space that reflects all my years of hard work and that I would move to the other side of the world for. Purchase or rent it has to be sharp. I really liked the vibe of the Sands condo you showed except it was a studio. I guess I'm only cheap charlie on certain things but some things are extremely important.....probably most folks are. I bought mine in 2011, at that time the rent would have been 35k, now dropped to about 22k. For a purchase price of just over 4m. I reckon I would have spent 3.2m in rent over that time. For the town to survive it needs a mix of buyers and renters. Personally I prefer the older larger units as the new builds now are smaller rooms and way more expensive. Most say, rent so you can move if you get tired, after 12 years I still love the unit we are in, size and location 🙏🙏
From the videos your place looks fantastic.. great location in a nice part of town (Comparing the price to my daughters 2 bedroom apartment in Perth Aus it's brilliant!) Re renting .. My preference would be to buy .. but there are a lot of variables which might change that (not least being your visa status and ability to live there for a longer term)
For sure George, for myself I have never once regretted the purchase. Over 50 the retirement option is really easy to do and only 1900 baht a year and satisfy the money requirements 🙏🙏
@@DavidAndNong plus the general costs for the condo facilities, which only owners pay, not to mention the additional renovations and investments in the condo, plus the fact that a building needs substantial maintenance after about 30 years, which is usually not done ....... .....
My annual fees are around 40,000, I would reckon maintenance costs are well under 2,000 a month. The building has a healthy maintenance fund, with continual regular maintenance to external, plumbing lifts etc. Another 18 years will tell, but by that time my potential rent saved would be 8.3 M THB, or even more. Minus my 1.2m in maintenance fees and 720,000 for regular maintenance....still for me a better deal. 🙏🙏
Great video. Don’t see many, if any doing these style videos on condos to buy. Nice to focus more on the area where the condo is and transport routes along with nearby landmarks so people can gauge whereabouts it is. Zoom in on pin drop with a little voiceover maybe. Great video Strachan
Of course, unfortunately I went to film Barry Upton and the food, but it was so bad we didn't include the food. It's a shame as they normally do decent grub there, but that night the service and Nongs food was dire 🙏🙏

He lost, bought for 6.58 sold for 5.5...We own our condo here since 2011 (off plan) and bought my Mum's about 5 years ago. If you can find the right place at the right price I would buy every time. But people have their own thoughts, some prefer to move around regularly. I prefer stability and ability to make the room my own 🙏🙏
Up in Pratumnak olde rogues, hard 8 and Cobra. In Pattaya I know High Rollers and Cloud 9 also Billabong on LK. I'm sure there are many others though 🙏🙏
For these types of listings that is hard to do a tour of them. I did put a map up for each condo showing the general area they were in, also trying to describe where they were in relation to well know points. But I take it on board if you don't know your way around the town it could be confusing 🙏🙏
