Every so often as I travel around I find something I think is either a good value or something that reminds me why I like living in Thailand. The Thai Lanna culture is one of those things I appreciate. I also love the use of water landscapes and tropical plants. Living around these things makes me feel good and if I can have them around me without spending an arm and a leg that's a bonus. I stumbled across a new apartment building just getting ready to open and it met all this criteria so I wanted to share it with you.

Lovely place you found there, JC! :-) Nice price also. The only "drawback" for long time renting is lack of a seating area in the room. Other then that, it looks like a true tropical paradise I easily could feel comfortable to live in! Gorgeous landscaping :-)

8000 baht is less than US$300/month. I pay $800 a month for an old studio dump in Los Angeles, and I get free cockroaches, not wi-fi. Goddamn, JC, once again you have me hunting for my passport. I retire early in a year, and I CAN'T WAIT!

Ya got me pegged. lol I like the feel of Chang Puak and enjoy chatting with Noi. I wonder if she's still getting bitten by her bicycle.*ponders* ;-) I would really enjoy living there.Not sure if Noi would charge per month or if she really wants monthly guests for that matter.She seemed to be doing really well with a lot of Asian clientele.

Excellent deal. I will be over there soon to meet you either in August or September! I am tired of paying $1000 a month for a studio apartment thats not including the electric and cable or wi-fi!

Seems like the management will soon be selling this property. The marketing problems have kept them from having good occupancy. I will add current contact links on MapsNMore and in this description for reservations.

265 dollars a month?! For a year?,,,Wow!!! Is it close to the city, markets, etc? Dont hesitate to show us more finds such as this and also houses for rent.

What about hired help? A maid (non live in), and maybe a driver/tour guide? What a bout a mechanic for your scooter? A plumber? Construction labor? Also, how to treat them. I am talking a $1150 budget. I have medical problems, muscular problems. I wouldn't work their tails off, but I need help with certain things. A video might be good on this. What if you wanted builders to build a small house.. etc.

Stayed there one night in december, looks nice but the service was nowere to bee found. When we woke, no people were working. we managed to fix ourselfs some coffee. took more then two hours before any staff showed up. (11 am)

Hi Jc, Have you heard any news on this Hotel and it's operations, opening etc? What a waste of a nice place. It seems like they never even started in the first place. I've tried on their website over 8 months ago and after with no reply. See if you can find out anything on this hotel if you are in the area Thanks Tony

+Kevin Travis still if you try to rent for a longer time , price comes down .Back in 2012 I lived in Thailand in a small nice town close to Laos border , I used to pay 200$ a month for a single apartment a month. everything was included except electericity and that cost about 20/30 $ a month.Food was real cheap ,people were really friendly ,just watch for women ,they like to eat out and when you invite them, they bring the whole tribe with them to eat!!

Make sure if you're renting through Airbnb that the owner submits TM 30 forms to immigration within 24 hours notifying them of a foreigner residing there. Immigration is really cracking down on this now. Would hate to see you get in any trouble.

Stevo Phillips Only at the time you wrote that! It is better to say in Thai Baht and have somebody look at their respective currency conversion on Google at the time they see this. Your conversion could be off by quite a bit in the future!

retirecheapjc You did not mention the price they charge you for electric - usually if the rent is cheaper they kill you on the electric rate!

SuperWorldeconomy Kill you only if you live in the same style as back home. A/C running all the time and all the electric gadgets. Live simply and it is still cheap. Average cost per unit charged by landlords is about 7 Baht per unit. Cost off the meter is about 4.
