Stratford Playhouse at Stratford High School in Houston Texas performed CHICAGO in the Fall of 2014. Here is their version of "All That Jazz" - the opening number - featuring Noelle Flores as Velma and Caitlin Ehlinger as Roxie.
Such amazing and entertaining dance, song and acting out of high school students !! The director/s of the show , choreographer/s and the band , are to be commended ,as well as every student in the show. When I consider the fact that these kids did this for free, that they were not professional dancers being paid with 8-12 hours a day to practice but kids doing it after school hours (the vast majority), and how they each practiced no telling how many hours to get their show to this level .....well bravo , well done all of you !!
Performance is good beyond years! Very tough act to pull off without a deep life experience to draw on - that I hope these young adults haven't had to suffer through yet. The Magic it takes to pull off Chicago will grow in each of these performers. But this act sets a very solid foundation to build on.
amazing as usual stratford production,,,as a side note,,its so wierd to see maria and tony dancing side by side here,,and both doing incredible dance moves,,,talk about super multi talented
With Velma, the dancing and acting was amazing and while I'm sure she has a wonderful voice and it may just have been nerves, she needed to work on her vocals to make it even more incredible (it was slightly pitchy with not enough vibrato)- other than that she and everyone else were fantastic!
very good for a high school production!! Great dancers obviously taught by a skilled Fosse dancer. And, although the moves look "simple", Fosse is anything but. All disciplines of dance are technique based and therefore, the dancer makes it appear easy. In any event, good job guys!
THIS WAS A HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMANCE?!?!??? they look so much older, and mature, i swear i thought it was a company, or college performance, but i guess that’s just the effect performing Chicago has🤷 this was outstanding!
More of a choreographer than a vocalist, but all in all everything was polished and neat. Then again it was simple and didn’t have a lot of “look at this”
@@mossycrown You’re right, that comment was pretty rude. Idk why I said that four years ago. But I also didn’t know hs theatre could use original choreography (my hs didn’t have the money for productions) because I thought they were copyrighted.
Not very 😕good. . . .not good @all. I'd have to say it's more like, T a c k y, w/a capital T. The best version of this number from the musical. Is the one from the movie/musical itself. . . .have seen very few that come close to being as good as that one. The one that Catherine Zeta Jones perfoms in.
@@littlemissshorty8948 me too, how bout you go on stage, hold your nerve, dance well & sing pretty damn strong on a famous number - oh, and don't slacken anywhere
griffin It is not insultive...if i was describing a meal i might say that the chicken was terrible but the fries were delicious. There is nothing wrong with saying what was really bad about something with reason and then contrasting it with something they did that was good.
