I like how "not guilty" sounds frantic and terrified; also i liked how they highlighter pop's anger issues

The fact that there is a high school that let their students do this amazes me. Well done and good for them to get permission to perform the song. I would have loved to do shit like this in school, but NO!

I heard that the innocent girl was based on a true story, she was framed for killing her husband and was hanged because of her lack of English.

The way she reads her lines at 5:10 is MARVELOUS, she really grasped the character and it was very enjoyable

I actually really liked how loud pop girl got. Watching different versions of people performing this I felt like the character had anger issues and they said it wayyy to calmly. I like how she bursts into anger when she talks about it

This is an amazing performance. They censored what they had to, and made it sound authentic. They did their parts perfectly, and each got more emotional, angry or scared, as their parts went on, and as the group pieces went on, they sounded more deranged. This is pure perfection. I’m surprised they let these high-schoolers do this, knowing what the musical is, but all in all, an amazing performance.

I think the pop-girl was really good. Even in the movie, I found her kinda tame for having anger issues over someone popping gum.

Interesting how they softened some of the language (for high school, I'm sure), yet sexed up the choreography. AMAZING talent! Really excellent ladies!

People complaning about the Pop girl need to understand she was the crazy one of the group, like all of the rest had real reasons for the killing but chewing gum? please, she was clearly insane. So the way she acts is completely understandable.

Think these high school girls are fantastic...young and talented !!!!

The "uh uh" girl is beautiful and so are the rest of them. They all did their characters pretty well and sang really well too.

You know, I actually liked the 'pop' girl. The character was obviously mentally insane (and had severe anger issues, considering that she shot someone in the head for popping gum), and I feel like she really sold that part of the character. Everyone was very good, in fact- the 'six' girl sold the heartbroken part, 'squish' did a good job acting 'innocent' and guilty at the same time, the Hungarian did a great job telling the story through voice inflection and motions (and she had a fantastic accent), Velma was just great all around, and I liked how 'Lipschitch' started out normal and then got increasingly more and more unstable. Overall, great job, especially for a high school!

Considering this a high school production this is good. Yes they should have worked more the sing and harmonizing of the girls, but you can be damn sure they tried their hardest. I also really like the choreography.

Ok but like- Pop; she was amazing in a wonderful way. The character was clearly crazy, she played it perfectly. Six, she's a wonderful singer, even though she had to censor the "single my ass" line, she did it in such a natural way. An innocent voice for a murderer. Squish, her body language and perfectly timed pauses made the part 10x better. Ah-ah, idk what she's saying but the air of panic in her voice left me genuinely worried. Cicero, she is the perfect gal to play this part. Aside from that powerful voice, she is legitimately what I pictured the character to look like. Lipshitz, whoa. I'm in amazed by how wonderfully she played the character. Her voice? Awesome. Her body language? Perfect. Everything? Astounding

I love the emphasis on the “pop!” In the versions with the older women, the “pop” is just flat

yall just dont understand right? the gum represents how it was the last straw, do youo see how in the lyrics it says he was on the couch with a beer? It insinuates that the one doing everything in the house was the woman, and she was tired of it, thats it.

unlike most other people the pop girl is my favorite rendition that I've seen :) She really got through with both the aggressiveness of the woman as well as her raging annoyance. At least for live anyways. the movie also did a nice job.

Why the negative comments? Yeah, the acting could use work, but they did better than I ever could!! Plus, the "pop" girl was really good even though she was a little loud. Better to over-act than not at all.

This is one of my favorite versions of cell block the tango. The girls acting is literally so on point, the choreography is so clean, and the characters didn’t rush the parts where they talk.

The people who played 'pop' and 'squish' were very talented. All of them were, but 'pop' and 'squish' had this attitude that made me watch this over and over and over and over

I wish my school did musicals...seeing this makes me miss Chicago. Always loved the older musicals, but CHicago is a masterpiece no matter the era. Getting permission for this musical must've taken a lot of time and effort. Incredible production. I can't believe this was possible on a high school budget.
