All the postal workers walk the routes and everybody knows them super well. People actually live there, there are families in the houses all around that you just don't see outside mostly. Violence is mainly targeted and everybody generally always knows what happens with what and who if you're from there.
What language are they speaking?? Is slang what they teach in English class? Their grammar is horrible. They Just sound very uneducated. Learn proper English plz cuz that's one step closer to getting a job
You're right, it's actually a bit socially awkward. These guys are clearly less developed from a social and educational perspective. It's pretty depressing, America is a first world country with more wealth than most other nations but has part of the population like this. This video could easily be of a 3rd world country. This is what happens when you have a poor public education system and a no strong male role models. These guys don't know how to conduct themselves in a modern society so instead they look up to famous rappers and copy their language and behaviour.
Shits crazy how they can't even relax, they are constantly looking around. I can't even comprehend how being like that 24/7 must feel like. I'm sure a lot of these kids have PTSD on a high level 😞
@user-ev4sx8sm6v but do they not live there? My point is that it's cyclical-you're born into it, and you somewhat have to be in a gang in order to survive, so tell me-whats the difference between civilians and gang members? Because those lines are severely blurred in many cities
Imagine being a non english speaker, and devoting hundreds of hours to learning the English language. After much hard work you finally achieve peak fluency in the English language, and you travel to the usa to practice your English. Then you speak with these men
I'm from south america, and these niggas talk in a lot of argot, so is not that hard to understand once you get the slang and the pronunciation. Not that dificult, but I suppose it takes a while to get.
I don’t understand how this group of guys have conversations. They’re just all talking at once about their own thing. It’s like they each have a total different conversation going on from each other but none of them seem to care.
As a black man from Kenya, I feel so sad seeing my brothers over us wasting themselves in drugs and crime instead of working hard.God have mercy on these souls and save them
And as a black man in America, I feel so bad seeing my brothers in africa constantly getting punk’d out of their land and resources by Europeans, Arabs, and now the Chinese..
@@koririan254 talk is cheap….plus, you all allowed it to happen.. you all voted for them…you all continue to tolerate it. Any how corrupt your leaders-which you all voted for-are is besides the point.. Africans such as yourself are in NO POSITION to be critical of us, when your own situations in africa are in shambles..
Some of y'all are so busy being condescending that you don't realize this was a really good interview and these guys shared some valuable knowledge about their environment what it's like to grow up there.
You must be a real moron if you consider anything these wastes of space have to say as “valuable” 💀 Valuable to who exactly? Meanwhile everyone else is working hard and achieving excellent, these drug zombies stand around a complete dump wearing designer clothes 🤦🏻♂️ Perhaps if they took some self accountability they’d actually do something with their lives. Nothing stopping any of them getting a job, saving and moving somewhere better, y’know, like the rest of us do
And thats real Queen! They are literally living in a war zone and can't afford to get caught slipping. Im pretty sure every last one of them has witnessed a few bodies fall and don't wanna be the next one. These are our young soldiers that really believe they are at war. And they really are...they just can't see the real enemy.
@@prayformyhorizon We aren't killing each other that would be suicide. What ur seeing is genicide. A strategically systematically designed hostile environment where ppl are forced to do what they have to do to survive. You heard the young king in the video when he said I DONT WANNA LIVE THIS WAY. But when ur poor and don't have the means to relocate to a better place and ur surrounded by killers with AR15'S and AK'S that are trying to take ur life away...what else are u supposed to do against all odds? Don't judge a book by its cover but rather open it and observe the content inside. Read to find out why this is happening and not what ur told or sold through the media.
Sancho Enkhbayar 🔒🔒🔒🔑🔓🔓🔓 why I was saying the same thing to myself. I come from a place like that, so I really feel their pain .their minds are just wandering everywhere. The one with the white could not stop looking in every car .reminds me of myself when I was young
The most eery part of this video was how they all NEVER let their guard down through the whole thing. Always on the lookout even in broad daylight by their yard. Scary shit.
You can sense the overarching paranoia in their mannerisms, constantly looking around. They never know if each moment will be their last, terrible way to live.
Anthony Jarrell can you imagine these fools trying to get through a book?? Lmao I bet they have a total of 17 for a credit score! You can pause the video at ANY TIME and that image will STILL BE THEM 30 years from now. They talk big but smell like trash.
140 years ago my ancestors came to Chicago. They settled in Englewood. They helped build that community. My great grandfather fought as a Marine in WW1, had my grandma on the same streets he grew up on in this neighborhood. To see what has happened to those Christmas mornings, the homes.. It angers and breaks my heart all of that is gone. It's a dump now. It hurts to see how violent it's become. Im sure my great grandpa has to be rolling in the grave. from the hellin WW1 and the neighborhood he called home eventually turning into bloodshed.
All inner cities in the northeast have gone through this decay. After ww2 they all collapsed from the growth of suburbs and the car culture. Companies also left because of tax increases which only made more people leave. Then, the government brought in drugs to make covert money. This is the result. Thugs aren't helping but the reason is more macroeconomic.
Watch from 2:18 they was on that car hard asf 😂😂dude said that ain’t nobody buddy in the black walked over to the Gun and buddy in white looked back to make sure he was by the gun ..only a Chicago nigga can point that out
You can tell dudes are on the lookout constantly. Always watching the road both ways for oncoming traffic. It’s like second nature. Live long young fellas. I hope you get out the hood.
Charlie appreciate you doing real journalism 🤝 While some people hate and crack jokes, it’s the youth that suffers from this environment and lack of structure. These kids are afraid to go to school… comprehend that. Can’t walk to a park, library, class without being harassed, stuck up, robbed. No one understands and feels that pressure like they do, like it or not, these young men have been dealt a tough hand that most wouldn’t be able to play. God bless, hope they make it out and get a chance at life.
I'm actually interested to see what they each gotta say without them talking over each other. You can tell they hate living in constant paranoia, always havin to be ready. And when dude said, "I don't wanna be here, it's just my environment." that's the real talk right there.
if he's there, it's his choice. Yes, there is the enviornment, but he can choose to get out of it if he works hard enough. The US is still very much the country of opportunity.
Jeremy Edwards they ain’t no jobs opportunities y’all don’t get that just cus y’all grew up in an environment where all your family ate togheter and y’all had money since you was born don’t mean it’s the same for other people’s
@Cor Mister much like making any youtube comment... Everybody shouts into the void, some people do it in real life Also, people do act weird when in front a camera. We all act weird when we think others are watching, get all performative... These folks are doing no differently
Khalil Houston 😂 So even you admit that being born white gives you a better chance at life! 🤣 A black man that is racist against black people. I love it!
I was about to say hell you wouldn’t make any money. Well yeah you would the majority wear them just don’t know how to tighten the damn things up. I guess it’s part of the prison life where it started. Standing for it’s an open invitation get it if you want it or they are wearing them at half mast because (a rapper, gangster, or a homie) was shot and killed.
It is a first world country. Yeah the people in these impoverished areas may be lazy bums who enjoy killing each other but look how well maintained the roads and how nice the streets look? Public school is accessible to everyone and so is food (if you have a job, which is also easy to get if you actually want to get one) Go look at the streets and how the people live in a real third world country and you'll soon realize the difference.
Yeah a first word country without Social justice, only Brutal capitalism. The Americans do not have as much a principle of solidarity as in Germany for the poor people
When they said AwmnGangshitymemShortyyuowatamsayinyoWeoutheereyo likeee.... Awymenwheretheweedatyobro like weoutheremanyuknowwhatimsayindawg? I felt that
Oliver Corfield such a statement is true, but realize we can say that from a privileged place. We were afforded certain luxuries these men were not, and as such, our perspectives on the cycle of poverty and violence are shaped by our predispositions
While what you all said is true but I'm from the islands particular jamaica where its ultra violent than the usa even though far smaller. When i was living in Jamaica you have guys that want something of themselves but because they live in kingston 13 zip code and such they get profile at job interviews even without them been accused or charged with a felony so i believe in order for this to stop a system have to be put in place to end systematic racism whether it be white on black or black on black and even white on white. There is still a chance for them to rise up though and emancipate themselves from MENTAL slavery . A clean image goes a long way cause 9 times out of ten if a police patrol was passing and seeing 5 men on the corner smoking ,drinking out of a paper bag with long dreads and pants dropping off them they will profile you either way.
Oliver Corfield I agree with your statement. Plus Teachers need to teach life skills and bring back spanking kids like the 80s, etc. Home life also plays a big role in human lives. I know someone who was born to a poor family and raised by a middle class one and now he’s playing basketball for Texas A&M.
@@hugejackedman7423 that's a bland generic statement. Of course personal choice matters. Even Jews trapped in Auschwitz had a personal choice. So did people who were trapped in villages devasted by riots in India during the Partition.
Zero communication or social skills. It's gonna be an uphill battle for him, and the hood is like crabs in a bucket - they'll claw and grab you back down
Those little Southside Chicago youths ain't no joke PERIOD! I used to frequent Chicago for work related reasons and I could never stomach what was on the local news(WGN) on a daily basis.. These poor and systematically oppressed & disenfranchised people have been psychologically conditions to self exterminate there own kind. Despite the fact that They have the likes of Oprah(business/entertainment), President Obama and Mrs. Obama(politics), Farrakhan(Proud black religious leader and community organizer/activist) and last but certainly not least, The greatest professional athlete of all-time in Michael Jordan(Sports) to look upto, they "somehow" can't seem to find the inspiration to value one another's lives and potential. Instead, They've been taught as young as 10 to shoot one another first and ask questions later in an effort to minimize the "Herd". What is a "GD" and "BD" when they literally live across the street from one another...? It's called divide and conquer!
@Tony Harris The writing is almost literally on the wall..and it's far more devious & deviant than any non satanist can ever understand. It's a continuation of what Margaret Sanger(1 of 1,000s) was caught doing. They're denied truth and justice and instead are subtlety encouraged to administer "street justice" among themselves often resulting homicide and/or displacement..
@@hxi7141 Yup! Most definitely...but not nearly as much as that "counter-culture" on the right that creates and puts out false narratives in the news and thus the minds of the people resulting in them being prejudged and discriminated against which also lead to so called red-listings and black-listings making the cycle of poverty difficult to escape. Remember "the war on drugs".
Thanosetalgia/ThanossGaming haha meme Instead of learning a good go to school/college they waste their time literally on the street while smoking and drinking. And don’t get me wrong that stuff is ok, but only when your work is done
It just looks like death, despair and hopelessness. It's very very hard (not impossible) to wake up motivated and positive with nothing but negative imagery and vices all around you. Always on edge and ridiculously anxious, uneducated and/or mis educated, self medicating all sorts of mental illness due to cyclical generations of torturous environments. And an entire culture that glorifies and brags about coming from this doomed and gloom existence, even those who haven't. Shits sad!
Reece634 excellent comment but the internet doesn't want critical thinking and extensive analysis.... Individuals just want to throw out their ignorant comments about a situation they've never endured. Breaking this cycle is equivalent to getting off meth with no assistance.
Bro I love what you do. I think there is importance in documenting the struggle so that we see we are in the same struggle no matter where we are on this planet. However, I do feel that in some cases this documents a confirming stereotype giving people who don't really know us and have to contact with us ammo to say "see, I told you they live like this..." The 313 in your name lets me know you're from the same place as me. In showing the worst, help to break that stereotype by balancing it out and showing the Rosedale Parks, Palmer Woods, University Districts, etc. just to let them know that there are beautiful areas that are majority us...just my idea, other than that keep doing what you're doing and be safe doing it...peace bro.
Bruh I swear theirs two kinds of people in the hood. The ones that like staying in the hood cause they think it’s “cool” and then you have the people that want to get out quick
@@davide8099 Yeah and we all know by saying 'nig' in a sentence made you superior. Since you are the grammar doctor here, the correct way is 'pretends to be intelligent'.
@@davide8099 ur an asshole bro. Where'd u grow up? Just cuz u got luckier in life dont for a minute thing you are any better than anyone. Fucking dick.
Achilles 1776 I was just arguing your point of saying “How do you know it isn’t a Saturday or Sunday” which made no sense at all seeing as how people work on weekend days...especially individuals under the ages of 18 due to those being the only days off from school.
@Dazed andConfused Yeah what, learn how to flip hamburgers. Have you seen the schools these kids have to go through and imagine walking home from school and constantly have to look over you're schoulder not to get shot. We can't even imagine how that is. easy talk for you.
The young dude in the white T actually seems like a bright kid. Not by what he says; just the vibe i get. He needs new friends. And the other dude is just rambling non-stop wtf lol
The bright kid looks like he's having a sober morning and the other kid is clearly drunk - looks like he's sipping on some brown liquor. Lots of weed being smoked.
Saddest statement is you really are born into association.. whether they like it or not .. even the positive kids , doing the correct thing , get beat up shot at just because the area you stay . He’s correct it’s sad shit . It’ll force a good kid down that path . A percentage is the ignorance of youth but the bigger portion goes to programming , lack of opportunities and, the fact that they did integrate the projects with regular neighborhoods and it’s not Chicago .. the word Project has a whole deeper meaning in itself
They come from broken families and most likely don't have dads... so it's obvious they yearn for that sense of belonging and family.. it's human nature. Me personally, I'm understanding of it instead of insensitive about it.
FarFromEquilibrium to a 41 year old from Chicago like me who grew up in the 90s when they had over 900 murders a year that gang gang gang shit sounds like little bitch shit. They guys have no kind of real balls ...
The main guy with locs-would really love to hear more of his insight on living in Chicago. He talked about tearing down the projects and how that actually contributed to the violence. And how the big name gangs aren’t a factor anymore. What I hear and see is hopelessness. He’s looking to hip-hop to get out of the hood but I can tell he has more going for him than music. Someone didn’t see what he had in him and no one told him about other ways to “get outta the hood.”
@@Blackwater06 If democrats sell hopelessness, republicans sell arrogance. if you think any political party is on your side, you have been duped. stop politicizing everything and stop letting the idiot box tell you how to think; politicians on both sides are making a fool of you (and anyone else who thinks parties are the problem/solution to everything.) if you divorce yourself from politics, you'll find the world and human beings are pretty damn complicated, and you can't sum up everything that's wrong with a person and everything they need to do to be "fixed" based on a few moments of observation.
