Or they could do one in the uk where they have public healthcare and the government keeps cutting their healthcare system’s budget, so they can’t afford new ambulances and they don’t have enough beds because people abuse the system. So America be lucky that you can use the emergency room without paying.

“I thought you said he was going to be okay” Okay, so, I’m no doctor, in fact I just started watching the show. But I’m pretty sure you should NEVER say that to a doctor. I understand your scared, because a loved one could be in danger, but saying that is putting even more pressure on that doctor, and they already had so much on them. Just remain calm and let the doctors do they’re job. Don’t intervene, they’re in their workspace trying to save someone’s life. So in other words, let them do their thing, and just hope for the best. Doc: “I’m not gonna lose this guy; he’s got 3 kids. Try thinking like a doctor and not a pregnant woman” Harsh I know but it was the necessary thing to do. Besides the female doctor said the baby was “at risk” not dying; like possibly at risk. Instead the male doctor clearly said that his patient WOULD HAVE DIED; the baby was just put at risk not probably dying.

I'm not a doctor, just wanna share my thoughts. In medicine there is no his/hers/yours/mine etc. The primary goal is to save the patient, when you have limited resources you have to distribute those resources in such a way in that the most people can benefit. We have to consider if the person gets the treatment how much longer is it going to extend their life versus the quality of life. This can be determined by QALYS [quality adjusted life years]. When faced with this kind of situation we need to consider this: 1. Is there any other alternative that might be more readily available and cost effective, Dr.Manning had one, Halstead didn't. 2. In what state is the patient. From the clip it seems that Halstead needed it more urgently than Manning and there was another arriving in 10 minutes. 3. Also what if you didn't give it to either of them, someone else with higher QALYS could've come and by not giving it to them you would be distributing resources in not a really sensible manner. My point is Dr. Manning was right by trying to give her patient the best possible treatment, but Dr. Halstead did need it more. There could've been better communication between the two, Halstead could've been less rude, Manning could've been more understanding and maybe her judgement could've been clouded possibly.

Will isn't thinking like a doctor, he shouldn't have taken the equipment from her and just made a request for that specific piece of equipment, i used to work for MD Anderson Cancer Center Materials Management, he could have made a request and have gotten it in a matter of minutes without stealing

He did it said it would take 10 minutes and the guy would have been dead by then.

One tank in the hospital? They need to have like 3 or 4 tanks. Melissa Hastings also on Pretty Little Liars need the tank for the baby...fighting over the tanks is not going to work.

No but I think the baby deserves it because just cuz he has 3 kids doesn't mean he gets it because he is old, he lived his life and the baby just came to the world so yeah baby deserves it more. 💜❤️💖💜❤️💓

Even if his patient was more at risk and was ultimately the one who should have gotten the tank, snatching it PLUS insulting another doctor was out of line, unprofessional, and to Will-Halstead's hallmarks, a horrible way of being a doctor with a vegetable of a man as a result with an angered doctor on the side. It was an emergency, but disrespecting a fellow doctor to get what you want is out of line.

I think he was right to act this way and I‘m a woman saying that. His patient was dying, the baby „only“ at risk, at a hospital you need to take high risk cases first.

Who would you give the machine too, a father or a newborn baby. The father has kids who depend on him, but has at least had a life. The baby has no one who depends on it but has not lived it's life yet.
@flyingfox2785
@flyingfox2785 4 года назад
The man's life depends on that tank the baby has other options you should not think about the age you should think about who needs it the most. Doctors job is to save the person in most danger not the one thats the youngest. It is the same if it was the other way around if the baby's life was in more danger than the mans the baby should have gotten it.
@potocatepetl
@potocatepetl 3 года назад
@@flyingfox2785 The doctor's job is to save the patient that has the best chance to survive! Believe me, many doctors had to make that choice last year. The guy ended up being a vegetable, I assure you not him, nor his family wanted that.
