Next door used to be The Thirsty Whale, a great club that you could see Cheap Trick, Survivor or many other great bands in a forum with 200 other people. Once the music was done, two dogs, mustard and onion, one tamale and an orange soda at Gene & Judes! Loved growing up in the Western Suburbs.
Hah! The Whale. I hadn't thought of that place for like 30 years. I did my time at the Triton Institute for Technology. I ate beefs at Johnny's. I had Russell's BBQ. BUT I still go to G&Js.
One day driving back with from a clients with an employee, we stopped in to get a hotdog. Just a hotdog, coke, and maybe a few fries. Instead, we got a great tasting meal that had us full until lunch the next day. Thumbs up.
I went to this restaurant years ago with my wife. She made the comment about “where’s the ketchup?”The entire cooking line came to an abrupt halt and I felt we were about to be thrown out of the place. They were definitely not happy and appeared pretty insulted. We were told we don’t put ketchup on hotdogs! Period!
Best hot dogs ever! A friend once told me “those who can’t eat a hot dog without ketchup go to the MacDonalds across the street to steal their ketchup packets” 😂
The best places are the ones where there is very little on the menu.. served with the freshest ingrediants.. The cooks can perfect the product and the customer will keep coming back cos they know exactly what they are getting. If i was to own a food truck it would only serve fries with any choice of topping or sauce. taco.. garlic mayo and cheese, bacon bits.. salsa. And as fries are cheap you keep the costs down to near nothing.
I've been reading the somewhat negative comments re the host. I have watched about 20 of his videos so far and ....... well he has grown on me. I think he really likes what he is doing even if he is kind of a hot dog himself.
I once went for an interview for movie theater. Took them a long time to finally tell me the position was for a hotdog costume selling the dogs. Takes a special kind of person. I'm far from special.
@@vinnygi hey vinny, who used the french fry first, i forgot jimmy buffs was more like a cottage fry, in a circle/slices, you are italian friend, i'm irish, i eat potatoes appx. 300 out of 365 days of the yr. ,lol, probably like you eat pasta, which i also like, especially linguina alla vongole.
Treyfin35th Gangk what in God’s name makes them the best in Illinois? Seriously... did you know that ALL establishments such as Gene & Jude’s use Vienna beef dogs? And they’re all prepared the same way. No such thing as better or best. It’s all the same
