I don’t blame them. Lightfoot enacted knee-jerk policies which greatly reduced what the police can do, and Johnson is simply continuing them. CPD superintendents are just political puppets and do and say what the mayor tells them to do. Like the officer told the guy who was being interviewed, “you’re f’ed.”

I like how the police are there to make sure none of the property owners can do anything about this. They insure the "teens" can continue without fear of property owners defending themselves or their belongings, and if someone does something or has a gun to defend themselves, the police can arrest them.

I agree to a degree but honestly, using the military to straighten out these kids won't work all that well. People are still people in and out of the uniform.
News stories like this are case in point why I always vote against any measure that could bring public transportation from the inner-city out to my suburb.
Same thing has happened in the east coast cities. Baltimore transit system expanded to some very nice peaceful suburbs, and the residents were against it, but it happened anyway. It was sold as a easy way to get into the city for work. But most of the companies moved to the suburbs. Just look at Harbor Front to see what has happened to the inner city. Not many want to go even close to the city, unless its for the hospital.
Years ago in the Philadelphia area there was a bus strike. The King of Prussia Mall out in the suburbs went from having something like usual 49 cars stolen down to single digits during the strike when the car thieves lost their ride out to the suburbs.

Without their culture’s industrious and creative drive, their edified and kind natures, their stunning ability to police themselves and raise their children to be educated adults and people of substance, importance and inherent worth, without the shining obvious example their culture-wide ethos exemplifies, we would most undoubtedly be poorer as a nation and a city.

Prior to 2020when Rahm was in office, the North Side and Downtown were spared from these animals. Since the pandemic, these animals realized they could go anywhere in the city and act like savages. The police was there to make sure the teens would be safe damaging those properties. They were afraid one of the owners would come on them defending their property! The comedian got publicity. During the interview he forgot all about the hefty price tag to fix his vehicle or the total inconvenience of not being able to drive home after his gig. He may not have even stopped to think or ask if anyone was hurt. It's a shame the reporter didn't use the footage of people outraged. I guess that wouldn't fit the narrative of "teenagers" gathering "without violence".

You live in a Lawless environment. While growing up among this behavior, many of us choose to leave and move to the suburbs. We move to the suburbs because the behavior leads to food deserts, violence, and an overall negative life experience. The result is usually that the burbs provide the opportunity to thrive without being robbed, hit by stay bullets, convenient grocery shopping etc. Once you allow the behavior in "the burbs" there will be NO PLACE that will be safe, which appears to be the case in Chicago. In LA, we still have "zones of exclusion", however, even for us the "culture" is encroaching closer to home. Seems adults will have to create "Teen Free Zone(s)" in order to adequately function as adults.

There needs to be a dentation facility that is set up like a military barracks, for all these trouble makers. Arrest them and place them inside there with nothing to do. I promise you that they will not do it again. Keep them there for a minimum of a month then have their court appearance. Then put them back in for 1 year. No cell, no tv, just have to work around the facility cleaning and cooking for themselves.
I disagree these parents probably at work and don't know that this is going on! all you need to do to understand how we as a society got to this point is look at history and facts. Many aspiring black communities were destroyed eliminating the chance for generational wealth for many for example Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma “Black Wall Street” (May 31 - June 1, 1921). There have been many laws passed to disenfranchise African Americans in the us. The GI bill created by the government to help soldiers(white) created ghettos and suburbs. These ghettos where then over policed due to the war on drugs (where cocaine was planted in communities by the CIA) prison like anything else is business, more prisoners = more money. This is where the no fathers joke stems from because for some reason crack(black form of cocaine) is worse than coke(white form of cocaine)? so blacks got more jail time. The jobs followed creating wealth gaps. School funding is based on property values. As a result many of schools become underfunded and staffed. These students also lack the means of proper mental, physical, and phycological help. Its hard to understand the importance of education when u are hungry, cant read because u dont have glasses, or have undiagnosed learning disabilities such as adhd or dyslexia. Those that do value education are often over looked because of where they came from. so a loop is created. There is a rare chance you escape the loop for most its sports or music. The music often talks about the lifestyle and struggles faced within the community. Many children look up to these people because similar circumstances. just like most of us dont aspire to be rappers because it seems out of the realm of reality, many of them dont aspire to be a lawyer or businessman, astro naught etc. As result of all this many resort to violence and crime. i skipped some parts but thats a light summary.every culture has its struggles. If we better tried to understand one another instead of pointing fingers and not doing our own research, maybe we could make some real change. if u got questions lmk
