I rarely comment on these, but wanted to thank you for this recipe. It was delicious. I added mushrooms and an additional 1/2 can of cream soup (I used creamed mushroom). I also topped it with French's onions for the last 5 minutes of bake time!
I just wanted to say, I've made this so many times for my family and for friend events when we have ppl over and its always a favorite . I always send them this video so they can make it at home . Love this so much def recommend for anyone . I just started cooking a year ago on my own . Love your recipes !
That's how I make mine using curry and crumbled Ritz with melted butter on top. That's how my grandmother used to make it yummm! I make mine with rice just because it is more of a meal for the family! Great recipe thanks to the awesome home cook who posted, we can't wait to see what's next ❤ blessings to all 😊
Thank you so much for this. It's amazing how many different videos are out on how to make this dish. I chose your recipe because it looked the easiest and most appetizing. I decided to make a bechamel sauce instead of using the soup to cut back on salt (health reasons). It came out great!!
You’re so welcome!! Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad you were able to tweak the recipe to make it work for you! That’s my hope w/ all the recipes I share... that people get creative and find ways to adjust the food to their liking. Ultimately I just want my recipes to be a guide/source of inspiration!
@@markiskool It is a basic white sauce made from flour, butter and milk. If cheese is added then it becomes a cheese sauce. It can be mixed in to casseroles to make it creamy/cheesy.
@@markiskool the béchamel sauce can be made in thin, medium, heavy all designated by how much butter, flour, milk ratio you use. Julia Childs perfected these sauces in French Cooking. I use this sauce for Mac n Cheese.
Hi Avery. I have searched and searched for a "good" Chicken Divan recipe and have made half a dozen on that quest. So far, your's is the best! Most recipes call for sour cream but you add mayo and I think that's what makes all the difference!
Hi BK!! I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the recipe!!! I totally agree it’s seems like an odd ingredient but the mayo definitely makes the difference! Thanks for watching!! 🤍🤍🤍
This lady put everything in the pan together raw. She herself was raw. I was like oh wow. It looked kinda good though. Lol but this! This I’m going to do today. No hesitation lol
Girl!!!! This looks amazing and you have such a soothing voice! Felt like I was talking recipes with a girlfriend, glass of wine in hand! ❤️ New follower here!! 🙋🏻♀️
I prepared this before with chicken flavored rice on the side but I like this idea of adding white rice into the mix. Chicken Devine is a delicious meal.
that looks so good, I am so hungry right now (stomach growling in background) I like the changes and look forward to trying your version. Thanks Avery!
Ooh, gouda sounds interesting! I also want to try Gruyere- when I can afford it! 🙄 One thing I didn't see in your ingredients, that I use, is curry- I use madras curry in this- it adds an amazing layer of flavor that you won't even really identify as curry...you'll be surprised if you try it...one or two teaspoons does it, depends on how much you're making... also, if you like crunchy topping, buttered breadcrumbs are awesome on this dish!
Thank you for sharing this recipe! This is the closest thing I could find to a dish that my friends mom used to make, and I have been CRAVING it. Hope you and your loved ones have a great holiday season and new year!
I made this tonight omg it was a HIT!!!!!! I used sour cream instead of cream of chicken ( didn't have any) I also used canned mushrooms.. it was AWESOME
O M G. Thank you for your great technique video. I’ll be using this as a jumping off point for my therapy meals. Mayo as a component of a cream sauce is 🤯
Commenting to let you know it was a huge a hit in our house. I make it at least once month, slightly switching it up and it’s a hit everytime! ❤️ thank you for sharing!
I loved your recipe!!! I think what made it extra yummy was the mayonnaise. Just very rich and dreamy ✨️ My family loved it ❤️ Thank You it was AWESOME 👌
First time making this and any casserole ever...I followed this whole video while I was making this and I kept thinking..."Theres noway that's enough ingredients? I'm adding a lil more chicken and peas." Then I put it into my 9x13... I added to much 🤣 ! Also I added Garam Masala. Heard lots of people saying they added curry. Guess we'll see what happens ! Awesome video and recipe thank you !
🤣 oooh yes yum I’ve seen a lot of people say they added curry, I haven’t had a chance to try it that way yet but I’m sure it’s delicious! I’m glad you found a way to make the recipe your own!! I hope you enjoyed it!
Just ran across your channel I know I'm a couple of months behind I truly enjoyed this video. Just the idea for future reference if you have any extra like you did before get some wonton wrappers or green peppers and stuff them so you can add to your recipes
I've done the Magic Pan recipe using bechamel sauce and crepes instead of rice, it was heavenly. However, making crepes from scratch is such a pain. I will try this instead.
Wow, I miss the Magic Pan, one of the restaurants for French Cuisine especially using crepes in their dishes. Chicken n Broccoli crepes were my favorite there too.
To me it just adds a really nice richness… I’ve read other recipes that use sour cream instead so you can definitely substitute that if you don’t prefer Mayo
@@AverysApron thanks for responding I just thought it was a nice touch I do it with my cornbread but I also was thinking about the sour cream so whichever one I have or I might do both I'm excited about trying it though I've made it before but not the way I seen you display it looks delicious
