Ar, it's not really funny, cuz that place is sorta hellhole (with lots of starvation), but come on! This man brings happiness! I was looking for a pasta recipe without milk - and found this! The whole family were involved in cooking this, for the first time. And my 12 year old boy gives it a thumbs up! Involving kids in the shopping, prepping, chopping and cooking seems to help them appreciate the food.

Your grammar is very good. It's "Gennaro when he's" (he+is) cooking. The words _his_ (masculine possessive pronoun) and "he's" he + is (masculine third-person singular + present indicative) sound very similar, so it is an easy mistake to make especially when you learn a language from immersion. The first time I went to Argentina, I spoke zero Spanish, and I thought everyone was *constantly talking about Tango*, when they were actually saying "tengo."

+AeroDoe There are always in other languages words that sounds like words in the own language. I am Italian and I live here in Germany. For example in Italian the word "Cozze" (mussels) sounds in German like a German word "Kotze", but with completely other signification (Kotze = Vomit). Here in Italian restaurants (in the menu) is often written in original Italian. Now you can understand, when an Italian here says "Ich esse cozze" (l eat mussels), what the Germans understand -;)

My family comes from Minori and I can remember the little bakery and restaurants were smelling fine and delicious. My grandma was cooking the same Ragu, but I never asked her for the receipt. Now since I have yours I feel like home at grandma. Thank you so much and kind regards!
