To move your song (or bourbon) to the front of the list, please bribe us by sending a bottle of bourbon, preferably one we haven't had on the channel yet, to: BCR 484 E. Carmel Dr. Suite 155 Carmel, IN 46032
Tyler Childers is either before or after his time. Definitely an old soul with a modern twist. He's underrated and true country music. Check out "Nose on the Grindstone" and "Follow You To Virgie" and "House Fire" just to mention a few from this incredible artist.
Cool take on this song guys! When you get a chance, listen to the studio version. It swaps the shuffle beat out for a nasty, swampy groove. Btw, the second guitar you hear is a pedal steel with distortion. For a recommendation - check out "Life of Sin" by Sturgill Simpson. Sturgill is another east Kentucky boy, and Tyler is somewhat of his protégée. Very cool artist.
Tyler is an eastern Kentucky boy same as Chris Stapleton. Try Nose on the Grindstone OurVinyl Sessions. Bourbon is our drink of choice. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a favorite.
The Genre Tyler Childers, the Dead South, Colter Wall, etc. belong to is called Neotraditional Country Bluegrass Folk. Coming from near the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Carolinas I can certainly hear that Appalachian sound in their music.
After living along the twisted road on the NC -Va line in the Blue Ridge Mt s. I hear a lot of familiar sounds in this music. I. Glad to see those sounds heard by folks. Okay, have a good one...
Oh that's a really high bar. Older Floyd tends to be hallowed ground for us rock guys, and if someone's going to cover them, it's ambitious indeed. That is a really interesting recommendation, though. My expectations of covering David Gilmour's guitar work alone would be astronomical. We'll have to think about this one.
Okay, I See Billy Strings mentioned by Carlita. that'd be good for you guys - Dust in a Baggie is the classic but I think you'd really like "Meet me at the creek." I'd point you in a different direction though... Marcus King Band "Rita is Gone" is a good place to start - not quite Country though but he has other songs that are more in that direction ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-emQiYCr_XZI.html It'll go down well with bourbon though.
Love my country try Ryan Upchurch he has charted in 3 genres. Rap, country, and Rock Rap- so Brooklyn, isis, trollz, me okay Remixes Country- Holla boys, true country, blacksheep Rock- dirty south, pond creek road, cover to nutshell
umm yeah ....lol i am a hip hop head and tyler childers is LEGIT his lyrics are incredible and raw.......lol also a Dylan fan( over 2000 bootlegs) he is the Dylan of country imho
For starters I have to say I love your channel. When you mentioned The Dead South being bluegrass that makes me think about southern US but there Canadian 🇨🇦 lol
Good to see you Hoosiers coming around to our music! You should check out more of Tyler's music. Sorry, but gentlemen, all bourbon is made in Kentucky, by definition. Steeldrivers are cool too, but I've been a metal fan myself. Try some Pappy, it's pricey though, maybe Bourbon Trace. Cheers from Ky!
Not sure if you’ll see this, but White House Rd. is just down 119 past Corridor G. Go Dots btw (Kieth should get that reference as a Clendenin/ Elkview boy)
First off, great video. Tyler Childers may be my favorite artist to date. Secondly, I hope you do NOT forget about this guy. I would recommend a song to you, but he is literally so great that damn near every song he records is bowed down to. Granted majority of his followers aren't your typical "Radio Listener", but you can see his following by his music video views. I suppose he isn't "mainstream" enough to be played on the radio, so it must take some talent to draw a huge crowd like that. Maybe checkout one of his first big one's, being Feathered Indians. I'm digging your channel I hope to see more Tyler Childers reactions!
Added a vote for this one, hopefully you check out our most recent Childers reaction: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EIzmTCSMEa8.html. -Dustin
Tyler's from Appalachia , so in his case (and a lot of people's case in that neck of the woods) when he says "We've been sniffin' that cocaine, ain't nothin' better when the wind cuts cold." , he's mostly referring to the toll that coal mining and logging takes on a body physically. Now people can judge or whatever if they want, but it is *hard* living and *making* a living in that area, so a lot of folks do what they have to , to get relief. It's why "hillbilly heroin" (oxycontin) is such an issue there.
Being intimately familiar with the area, the guys doing that work tend to stay away from the drugs. The drugs result from economic despair, because there are so few jobs, no one sees a way out. - Keith
The feeling I get from this song is bleakness, with a scattering of good feelings snatched wherever one can, which is pretty much growing up in rural Appalachia. PS: Nobody's a fan of cocaine; they just love the smell!
I recommend listening to Grady Smith’s video about different types of country. He does a quick overview of the different sounds, and you’ll also get many artists recommendations for the different sub genres. Also would like to recommend Eric Church. I love most of his songs, but Lightning, Smoke a Little Smoke, Drink in My Hand, Some of it, and Like a Wrecking Ball are a few to start.
@@BourbonCountryReacts yeah man. Just let me know. Lisa’s cousin moved down. They are waiting for their house to be finished being built. After that we will have a spare bedroom. And a loft and of course the couches lol
George Dickel makes an 8 year bourbon as well as a good sippin' whiskey... Nice and smooth and the aftertaste is one of my favorites ... Keep up the good work gentlemen... I've subscribed and notifications are on so I'll be back Peace... Big Andy
If you want to go further down the rough and tumble Kentucky country rabbit hole, check out Chris Knight. Down the River, North Dakota, and Trouble Up Ahead are all good.
Guys, good God I've had Indiana Bourbon when I was in Fort Wayne about 6 years ago and I thought I was gonna spew!!! Honestly! I traveled there as I have for the past 50 years, went into a liquor store to pick up some good Kentucky bourbon and the sweet little gal at the counter was giving free shots of local booze. She gave me a shot of some "local bourbon" made in Fort Wayne ......... OMG!!!!!! ......... I would never have served it to ANY of my enemies!!!!! 🤮🤮 But I didn't wanna hurt her feelings so I told her that it was fairly good, oh what a liar I became that day!!!
But at the same time, I'm not a bourbon snob, with that said if you could direct me in the path of some GOOD BOURBON I will honestly sip it and give you a true reaction!
Jeff, there are several Indiana bourbons to choose from these days, it turns out the State made grain spirit distilling in Indiana very difficult or impossible until 2013, therefore any bourbon ‘made’ in Indiana can be a maximum of 8 years old to date. The aging has made them better, there won’t be any sugar coating or special treatment to Indiana bourbons on this channel.
Lyrics are pretty key in most country songs; you may want to start pulling them up alongside so they’re available if needed. Got a scattering of recommends for you. Jace Everett - No Place To Hide. Sugarland - Stay. Montgomery Gentry - Gone. Lila McCann - Down Came a Blackbird. Kenny Rogers - Coward of the County. Garth Brooks - Unanswered Prayers. Reba McEntire - The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia. Faith Hill - When the Lights Go Down. Big & Rich - Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy). Brad Paisley - Whiskey Lullaby ft. Alison Krauss. Brooks & Dunn - Believe.
We've talked about making sure the lyrics are available. But, unlike some rock music, so far, we've found the lyrics to be pretty clearly sung, and not at all hard to understand as we listen.
@@BourbonCountryReacts Fair enough. You just do whatever makes it fun for you. By the by, running on a sever lack of sleep, I can’t remember now if that Faith Hill song was from her country or pop stage, so you might want to double check that with someone before reacting. I just remember loving it.
I just found you guys and subbed immediately I am also in Indiana and love bourbon oh and I work in a coal mine lol which is one reason I love tyler childers so much he hits home great reaction!
@@IamKenRoss We try to react to the bourbons neat. It's really hard to judge a bourbon's quality when there are mixers over top of the flavor of the bourbon itself.
I have no choice but to recommend the perfect bourbon and country songs I'm going to start with Blake Shelton's God's country then let's move to Blake Shelton's hillbilly Bone I think that you will find it pretty much anything Blake does goes real real well with booze I'm so strongly recommend Trace Adkins till the last shots fired Toby Keith courtesy of the Red White and Blue The angry American and along the lines of Martina McBride you might take a look at Miranda Lambert gunpowder and lead and Carrie Underwood before he cheats
