My brothers been there since 80s... He lives across the street from Sams. He's been offered sooooo much money for the land. True East Austin hero.

progressive Austiin seems to be very proud of what they've done to the black neighborhoods in east austin. Just as they've done to the mexican american neighborhoods.

MUCH RESPECT 🙏🏿..... THIS IS A SUPERIOR LESSON ON "VALUES and principles" If every historic black community thought like this...We will better off as a people!! We are dealing with same thing in Fort Worth, Lake Como, Tx 3 hrs away...... see ain't nothing wrong with change as long as We control the change!!!!

I learned about this place watching a Stevie Ray Vaughan interview when he said it was his favorite BBQ in Texas. Heading to Austin in a couple days and definitely going to make the walk!

My favorite spot, makes me miss Austin. Great people, great food. My picture is on the wall, I have hundreds of recordings, playing inside, and outside.
