I lived a few houses down from Stubbs in the early-mid 90s on parker in Austin. He drove a big red Cadillac and wore a 10 gallon hat all the time. He was the nicest man, and was indeed quite humble, which is rare for someone who becomes a celebrity.
Anyone else eat at the original location in Lubbock. I've had many Saturday night dinners there and saw Stubb walking out with a mop handle when things got too loud. It was the best food, and experience in town. I was a college kid from Ohio when my room mate and I went there with our girlfriends. A few years later we married those girls.

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of a song from a commercial advertising for Stubb's BBQ sauce? The singer has kind of a deep voice but it just sounded awesome. The commercial is short and shows a few clips of Stubb's but man I never forgot how cool that song sounded. I thought it was Summer Time but another man that sings it doesn't have that deeper voice. He sings alright but just a different vibe. So no disrespect to him.
It is Summertime, but I haven't found Stubb's version. I'm gonna guess that the version you found was Sam Cooke's version because I found his version while searching for Stubb's, too.
