Same. Back in 2010-11, the intro was used in WODOTA weekly highlights, I wasn't even into metal back then. Got me intrigued about the intro, and it all started there. This song brought me deeper into metal.
"My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape."
When i listen COB i hear : dimebag, rammstein, james+dave, slipknot, maiden, classical music, thrash, heavy, melodic death. I can proove it my friends.. Rip legend.
2007 if I remember, Hate Me. Over the years CoB became one of those bands. Standing by the river, booze doing it's work. I pour a bit on the ground, for the dead. Shred in peace, our dear brother. You left your mark.
I started to listen to this band around the year 2000, and they helped me come out of a depressive period of my life. I was very sad to learn of his passing, and have since been on a roll listen to their records. Such master artists. Such a master guitarist. Rest in Peace knowing you positively influenced your listeners Alexi.
R.I.P. Alexi. You were and will always be one of my biggest influences for not only guitar but for everything I set my mind to do. Even though you were sick you kept on playing and doing what you love and I have nothing but respect and love for you. You will never be forgotten
I first heard them just over 3 months ago now, first song I listened to was Bed of Razors and as soon as it started playing I instantly realized how great CoBs guitar work is. It is simply amazing, the first band that has genuinely impressed me since Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
For the past 5 years I've been listening to bodom I honestly cant believe how hard they fucking rock. They put on the best shows.. Alexi and Roope together are the meanest guitarists alive. Such picking accuracy and amazing sound.. Blows my fucking mind every time. Inspired me to pick up a guitar again and haven't lost interest since. Can't wait to get my sawtooth esp within the next couple months. \m/
I for myself have never been on a live concert of CoB, but I got all their albums and I started listning to them at the age of... around 12 - 13... Moshing since 3 Years now. \m/ HAIL COB!
They played this in their tour this year, and I was so fucking happy to hear it. I honestly never thought I'd hear this song live. So glad I saw them 3 times this year. Especially since they're breaking up :(
In the metal circle no one can even come close to Alexi and Jon (Dissection) when it comes to playing guitar and singing together! RIP, both the legends
In finland we have the lake named bodom. Go there and wash your hands on the lake of bodom. I remember that the lake is pretty near to helsinki. GO THERE AND WASH ! :))
So insane, I wish I've could been in this gig. But I was 2 years ago in Helsinki and just last summer in Ilosaarirock( rockfestival in Finland) and both times when CoB played I almost cried (not really but figuratively) because they were just so FUCKING AWESOME! Can't wait to see them next time :)
goddamn... I am very sad that the band is splitting up but that was beside Deadknight Warrior/Bodom After Midnight medley are going to stay my two favorite
