Wanted to play this intro for my dads funeral and couldn’t because I was told “black folks don’t play that kinda music”. Still played it anyways with the guitar he bought me as a kid in 99”.
This reminds me of my teen days, sitting in my room with my eyes closed listening to stuff like John Petrucci, Joe Satrioni, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert... amazing moments in music. I like the sound Chimaira has. It's dark and crunchy yet soft and melodic. If I was to paint of picture of this it would be heaven and hell blended together
This is the only song ever to help me find my center (and boy, did I need it today).... Thank you Chimaira for being so amazing. I am constantly reminded why I have you inked on me.
it was his incredible personality and the fact that he was a fan first, not some holier than thou guitar god. he would get down in the pit with his guitar, or even occasionally let fans onstage. He was a cool dude, and a great guitarist. A HUGE influence on music today. So quit talkin shit.
I remember listening to this song during those afternoon/nights in the beach or in bed in that house we rented. Awesome times of peace that now lie behind...
