I like the Brits' QE class double-island, just because it's two. The French Charles de Gaulle island looks cool too even though it's a bit more complicated and less stealthy than the Fujian's. The Chinese have some good-looking ships, though... especially their Renhai-class (Type 055) cruisers. Sleek and futuristic, and packing a heavy punch.
@@IrishCarney Yeah the design language is consistent across the entire lineup from carriers down to destroyers all the way down to corvettes. The USN on the other hand, doesn't really have a consistent design language between carriers, Ticos and Burkes. It's like every ship was designed by a different team.

@@What-pt9uq In additiion to the diesel engines for recharing the IEP (Integrated Electric Propulsion), I wonder if they could ever make the entire deck a giant solar panel and also have pop up wind turbines on the sides to help charge the batteries. I guess the wind turbines would look kind of funny and it's not practical to design a tough enough deck for planes to land on and still have solar panels underneath a transparent surface. The IEP is a transition technology. Nuclear power is still the best way to go.

It has almost the same dimensions and displacement as the US Kitty Hawk class carriers. It also uses steam turbines with 8 boilers like the Kitty Hawks but with less megawatt output. Obviously the Fujian has modern electronics and EMALS comparing with the Kitty Hawks.
When ever the pictures showing the control room, there are always trained and dedicated young generation. That's the reason why they are making China great again.
@@bobsmith3983 What experience? What sort of combat experience does this crew have? Whereas US carrier crews have decades of experience and strategies that this puny Chinese Navy can never match.
@@williamho1976 All the crews on US carriers are young people who don't have any experience in combat with a peer competitor. The last few times US carriers were in "combat" was when they were dropping bombs on goat herders with and without AK-7's in Afghanistan. The only US navy personnel who went up against a peer competitor was against against the Japanese in WWII over 75 years ago and they are mostly dead. Vietnam was not a peer competitor and yet the USA lost and those navy personnel are either retired or dead. Essentially any conflict between the PLAN and the US Navy is between two combat inexperienced navies. Modern naval battles will be a missile battle as they will never come in contact with each other. 18 out 18 war simulations in regards to a conflict in the SCS done by US think tanks have the US Navy losing every one. Let that sink in.
