My mom shared this video with me. I’m far from home and don’t have any Guyanese Chinese restaurants nearby. This was a perfect Guyanese Chinese restaurant quality recipe that I’ll be using for years to come. My husband loved it! Frying is difficult for me because it’s not something I do at all but I did a batch in my air fryer and it was excellent! 10 minutes on each side and it was perfectly cooked through and golden. Can’t wait to try some of your other recipes 😊 Thank you for sharing 🙏
THANK YOU! I tried this recipe twice! FIRST TIME: I followed the recipe exactly as shown here (minus the need to wash the chicken after a 24hr wet brine). SECOND TIME: After removing the chicken from the parboil liquid, I reduced the liquid, added teaspoon of oyster sauce, couple of drops of fermented fish sauce, tablespoon of honey, 3 cloves sauteed crushed garlic, and dark soy sauce. I used this to brush onto the chicken after frying. I also garnished with fresh scallions! This turned out great as well! THANK YOU for sharing!
I try my hand at it today. Glory to God thank you, it wasn't so bad my family enjoyed it and I wanted to thank you for the great explanation of the process. The explanation was simple and clear.
Hello from the Philippines YT recommended me here. It's really *delicious* ! I learned that recipe from my father from *brining* (the best overnight the salt,g.b.pepper, and garlic also good for just fried chicken), *flavoring* (add lemon grass and chili for more extra flavor) to *frying* (for air frying dress the skin part of chicken w/ olive oil or melted butter and you can also grill it pasting with the mix of flavoring liquid+olive oil or soy sauce, ketchup, and olive oil mixture.) I never thought it was Chinese 😄Kinda late but Sub and belly done!
Yum! Yum! Thank you for providing a well sought after cooking recipe and tutorial. I have always wanted to try cooking chicken the Chinese taste method. I really appreciate the way the steps are clear for achievement. Peace and kindness with prayers. 👌💐
Just did this..omg. my chicken was seasoned for three days just cause as we buy we do, but I boiled and fried...omg! Crunchy, flavoured perfection....amazing.

Good afternoon…I send your recipes for your fry pork and chicken to my family in Trindad and they try it and love it …plus I send to my friends in NY ..thanks again for sharing ..god bless your hands 🙌 for making awesome meals ❤️
This looks delicious and is a must try recipe for me. Thank You for the precise ingredients and measurements. I don’t think anyone could fail making this recipe if they follow the exact instructions. I will also make it with Fry Rice and I normally buy Eggrolls at the Chinese restaurant to make my Chinese dishes at home complete.
Hi well tried it today.. its simple and awesome recipe. The only thing that I changed on the recipe was deep frying...it was a very shallow frying yet the same texture and taste...Thanks to Candy for all that... ..hope I can share those pictures..🤠
Thank you so much Cindy, I will try it as soon as I can but have to boil 1 pot of sauce. I have to find a place to keep it after braised the chicken in it.
Oh my, I'm so glad you appeared in my feed. I'm a first time viewer and have subscribed to your channel because of this amazing juicy Chinese style fried chicken which I will have for dinner tomorrow.
Hello, thanks for sharing this! I love Chinese foods and I have recently started learning to cook my own instead of buying it. This chicken looks delicious and I will definitely start frying my chicken THIS way👍👍
@@candythaglamcook hello, I just wanted you to know that I've made this 3 times already and this is how I fry my chicken these days, it's absolutely delicious everytime I make it!!

Thank you for the excellent presentation. I never learned to make the Chinese fried chicken. I am excited to try it. I have a request please regarding Chinese Cuban style fried rice. I live in Florida and many Chinese recipes here are influenced by Cuban style cooking. Could you share Cuban fried rice with us? Thank you so much. 👍❤️🙏🏼
Ha! I clicked on the video because the chicken looked like the Chinese fried chicken we get in Antigua 🇦🇬! I knew I landed in the right spot when I heard you speak. Caribbean Chinese food is so yummy :) I will definitely be trying this because the restaurant that had the best chicken closed down and all the others seem to make it very dry. Thank youuuu
You're recipe looks absolutely delicious! Did you use a heavy duty Chinese Cleaver to cut through the chicken bones for your final presentation? I will try your delightful recipe soon! So much flavor and without the breading of traditional fried chicken. YUM!
Just subscribed to your channel. Chicken in brine is my way of cooking. You did an outstanding job! Timing without rushing will always bring out a sumptuous dish. You did it in style & good luck with the subscriptions!
@@bettymassanja881 you can strain off the aromatics and add cornstarch to the liquid to make a sauce for the chicken. I don't use it in that way tho I prefer to just discard it.
@@candythaglamcook I always want to learn how to make Chinese Fried Chicken, thanks for the video. It is a waste to discard all the marinated broth, can I put it in the refrigerator and use for next time?
