Thank you Roger. You're the first to talk about the severe dangers of the fumes. And guys, believe him ! The problem is it will take time to get sick and the best is lung or blood cancer.

So how long service interval is it on such a filtration system and what are the cost maintaining it? Doesn't environmental factors affect the performance and durability of that filter to a high degree? I'm pretty familiar with military installations using intricate filtration systems to keep pretty bad stuff out and our 'chemical filter cassettes', based on 'active charcoal', are both sensitive to moisture and pricey. They have a limited lifespan starting from when the manufacturers package seal is broken, not counting the actual 'service hours' of the filter cassettes or volume of air passes through it. Same thing goes for PPE or 'gas masks' with high performance chemical filters. The service life is counted from the moment package seal is broken until n amount of time has passed, regardless of the amount of air passed through it. Wouldn't it be safer and much easier to just evacuate the laser burn gases instead of trapping them in expensive and complicated filters that probably needs regular maintenance to be effective? I can surely see a filter having its place in a strictly controlled and maintained environment but for garage and home use? Maybe if you can't find an easy access to the outside but these things being typical 'garage operations' most people should be able to relatively easy make a vent. I'm afraid that many people will 'forget' the service interval or increase it to the point where an active charcoal filter is doing no good anymore so why not just a simple evacuation fan? Provided you don't live in my neck of the woods, where it can be -50 degrees C outdoors or you can't shift large volumes of air for other reasons, it seems to me like the better thing to do.

As in all things, there are good and bad manufacturers. Is there any names from China that people would recommend? Understandable, some safety modifications, may have to be made, but at least get a decent start before upgrading to a reci laser tube, etc.

Hello Mr. Roger I would really appreciate your help. I recently purchased from China, a laser engraving 100 watt, with a stepper motor, 63 mm focus, compressor 280 watt. My job is making wedding invitations, and I have been trying to successfully get the result of the cut, but it keeps on burning the paper by the interior side (250 grm) I have done all the parameterizations, but the result is disappointing. What could be the problem, the air from the compressor, that it's not enough , or the lense 63mm is not sufficient enough, or right to cut properly? I know that the calvo is the right machine for this, but unfortunately it's economically unaffordable for me. Thank you, your help is much appreciated. Also if you have an email I could communicate directly with you, I would appreciate it.

Hi Roger, great work - I have learned a lot from your videos and I'm a fan of em!!!I've got a machine like this, but when I fill the tube I always get a few tiny bubbles in the laser so I'm scared to even operate my laser machine wit those in it because of the warnings Ive read. I have a tiny fish pump that they supplied with my 100W laser - should I change to a water chiller like your machine has and that will sort the bubbles? Please let me know I'd sincerely appreciate it. :)
