I got a 50cc Ice bear Maddox Ruckus and I accidentally put regular gas in it but it says to use octane - is that ok??? I can't find any info on google- I'm a chick trying to learn this stuff on my own

Octane is only the rating of the fuel. It may says to use 87 octane in which is regular pump gas at your local or any gas station for that matter. Thanks,

@@TerenceDIY Thxxxx Im subscribing now---so it says to use unleaded 90 octane or above and I accidentally put regular in there 😬 it's like 3 4ths full can I fill- should I just use the rest of the gas and then use unleaded- fill the rest up with unleaded an mix it or drain what I got in there now and then fill it up with premium? Whatever is easiest and won't mess up my engine is what I want to do

It's not going to hurt anything. It's about performance. You may lose some power (you won't even notice it) but that's about it. You can use some 93 to balance it off.

Where is located the valve?

@@allaboutfamily5192 under the front case closest to your feet. There are valves that hit the intake and exhaust springs and pistons but those should be tuned to .004 intake and .005 exhaust. Its called a rocker arm its what the camshaft hits. This is where timing comes into play too. I hope this helps a bit?

Me too!! I have everything, compression, spark, fuel, even tried starting fluid. I do have a decent battery though. My multi meter read the battery at 13.2 volts. I don't have a battery charger or a jump starter😢😢😢. Will jump it with my car tomorrow.

Hi Willie, the problem was the engine wasn't spinning over quick enough to allow a strong enough spark. If yours is doing the exact thing, I suggest jumping it off to get the spark required to combust. It should start up instantly. Thanks for watching.

There is a "starter clutch OR bendix gear". Both setups accumulate junk behind the rollers keeping them engaged... this adds "drag" on the engine causing it to run funny, hot and soon after SHTF and spin main bearing..... g Good luck...

It's probably the Bendix gear at what's happened to last two bikes. So I'm going to take it off tomorrow I got two spares. And if I need I can change my belt too and my rollers, I figure if that's not it I'm going to have to take the engine apart and reset my valves

Hi, my problem was that the battery wasn't spinning the engine over fast enough to generate a strong spark to start it. I jumped the scooter off using jumper cables and it fired right up. I eventually bought a powerful battery. If you have a jump box or can jump it off with your vehicle, the scooter will most likely start up.

Yep, I would remove the bowl and clean it. Also spray the bottom of the carb into the jet with carb cleaner once you remove the bowl and I am pretty sure it will be fine. Thank you so much for watching.

Sorry for the late response. Did you get the scooter started? If not, you should remove the spark plug and pour a little gas inside the hole, replace the plug and try to start it to see if it starts up? This will give you a clear indicator that you have a carb issue. Maybe the jets are clogged. Let me know.

@@TerenceDIY I have tried that and it cranks over but the only way it starts up is by spraying starter fluid directly into the carb and even then it starts for only a few seconds and then dies I've replaced both the battery and spark plug and made sure all the lines are clear

Yes it should, the problem is that this is a low compression engine and you can't spin it that fast with the kicker. Btw. You should check your choke first (the thing with the two cable which sits on the side of the carb).

Did you try to jump it? Do you have compression?

Yes T and your welcome...im a certified auto mechanic from CT. ...if u notice how everyone needs a battery every time and wondering why its dead so fast....thats what a high amp 12 volt battery charger does....no matter how new the battery is your slowly killing the chrge cells. A powerwheel toy car has these chargers.

Hi Chet, I don't think anything was wrong with the first new carb. My problem was a spark issue. The starter wasn't spinning fast enough to start the scooter. I installed a new battery like the original it came with and now it starts every time. Thanks for watching!

All these chinese scooter engines are alot compatible to other chinese scooters. ...sometimes a little valve adjustment is needed. These small valves go through alot of stress and load, so checking your valves real quik doesnt hurt to check. ...heres a quick check TIP: OPEN VALVE COVER WHILE ENGINE OFF & COLD. TURN fly wheel to TDC/ top dead center points till the piston is at TDC., then shake the top rockers to see if they are loose. If so just loosen that rocker arm bolt just a bit, and tighten the screw just enough so it stops the rattle on the rocker arm then tighten the bolt. If u have filler gauge even better because over time the cam lobes wear out 0.001 " so u must adjust & tighten them again over time. Do this every 100- 200 miles. This is where most chinese scooters lose power, The valves stay stuck open and dont close or open all the way so it bogs out if u try to gun the throttle. Try this before u go spending money on parts if your chinese scooter turns off at idle or hard to start....in most cases this is the colprate...give it a try yall.

Hi Robert, have you did a thorough inspection of your wiring? That's weird not to have power to the cdi. However, I had a moped with less than 50 miles with no spark. Although the motor was basically new, the timing was off. I had to use a feeler gauge to correct it.

@@TerenceDIY ty I finally found it out my new carb had a yellow and green wire to the connector but when they were connected they were opposite of each other and cdi box one wire was not in right place for new cdi box. Now I have to find a website that sells body panels for my moped. A redstreak glide eyas50 and have had no luck previous owner did not take care of it. But it will do well over 50mph now. I tweaked some things I learn fast just not good with people

Yep. The small battery I was using was not strong enough. The engine needs to spin over pretty quickly to generate enough spark to start the engine.

My 2008 tomos nitro 50cc I just put a new carb. On it a new coil battery is good compression good and the plug is sparking welland just today I put a new blue racing CDI on it and it ran a couple hours then I turned it off and an hour later it didn't start and hasn't since, would you happen to know what is the cause, and how I could fix it

@Monica Ownby sadly I don't. The bike later stopped working with this solution and was a gift and very worn at the time. Sorry, I literally trashed the whole unit. I was planning on changing the whole motor for a larger cc as I went through everything. It's a damn mystery and I trashed it because it was out grown before I could make it reliable. Actually he did, he just told you that he didn't have the right size battery. By not having the right size, it's not going to pull enough power from it.

@@brianboyd8882 NO, if it turns, gets spark, gets fuel but started with bigger amps that means the motor needed to spin faster. If it needed to spin faster to start then that is a compression issue.
