If Berrymans isn't sponsoring this channel you need to find a new company for your carb cleaner cause you definitely have been doing them some great advertising.
You’re spot on with the carburetors. The pilot jet is about the size of a human hair and does clog easy. I put a capful of seafoam in the tank to keep everything clean.
Ethanol is a small engine killer best bet if you plan on not riding for a while is to drain the carburetor bowl . And or fuel tank if is going to be a really long time. Hey thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it ‼️
@@scooterrehab6295 I try to run my fuel down September/October and drain what ever is left in the tank once I store it for the winter. These carburetors clog easy and cold start up becomes a nightmare
Buddy thank you so much for sharing your video. Thank you for being so deeply detailed also. I have a 150 mad dog I plan on working on. I liked & subscribed to your channel. From Arizona, Blessings!...
I owned a scooter shop, and most of the problems we saw were ethanol-caused carburetter problems after the scooter had sat for a while. The battery on that scooter appears not up to snuff. When it finally started, you had changed chargers, and the starter motor ran much faster. Also, with the air filter disconnected, it will run leaner.
Hey thanks for watching I hope this video is useful for you. Good luck with your projects . You also can join the Scooter Rehab Facebook group to post your projects.
Try to adjust the lash on the valve rocker it takes a 9mm hex socket, the valve seat gets worned and thus makes a loss on compression remember to TDC before adjustment and rotate a couple of times, if the valves aren't shot, this is a common failure on GY6 engines
@@chrislavalley4062 the valve lash wasn't the reason it wasn't running it was bad gas. The valve lash on these GY6 engines can get way out of adjustment before it pre vent it from running. This scooter had a common case of sat for to long with ethanol based gasoline in it .
I did hear you say you tried starting fluid in the beginning but I only saw you using carb cleaner. My experience has always been spraying carb cleaner into an engine not running creates a hard start requiring longer cranking until the carb cleaner is cleared. If you spray carb cleaner in to an engine while it's running it will kill the engine and you will see what I mean. I think if you used starting fluid it would have started right up.
Yes I said starting fluid then I corrected myself I have never experienced a scooter having a hard start problem because of using carburetor cleaner yes if you spray carbureted cleaner into a running engine it will kill it but it has been my experience you can use carburetor cleaner to start an engine and brake clean thank you for your comment
Hey bro, I'm not sure but I believe the model has hazzard flashers. IDK I've been flipping & I have seen some crazy things people have done on their scoots. I live in Ohio & my only option is ethanol 😔 lol. Do you have a preference on fuel stability products?? IDK I drain everything because my riding season doesn't last long here. Nice work on the little VIP 💯🎬🛵👍.Salute my friend 😎
Hey thanks for watching ‼️ I forgot what was the issue with those signals. I think it was the flasher🤷🏾♂️ . But as of the last few weeks I've been forced to buy ethanol fuel the only fuel station that sold ethanol free stopped selling it.. I appreciate you commenting thank you ‼️
Is the fuse wire on Batt?? Where does that wire run to? working on my 250cc roketa scooter and lost the ignition? Turn the key on and will not show signs of life.I can't find the wire that has a fuse going to the Batterie.
The wire with the fuse is the smaller wire connected to the + side of the battery. If your battery is down on the floorboard it most likely under the floor board somewhere.
hey there, nice video en tips. i have an question, i have an gy6 with an 70cc. when i start is runs great but after it warms up it starting to making a ticking sound, like only when its getting warm. i have checkt the cilinder en piston for wear en its like brand new en noting hitting, stil put other chain gards in en new timing chain, new valve arms en the holder, en new camshaft, en new variator+rollers. it runs great non the less, valves are set to 0.08mm intake en 0.10mm exhaust. im kinde lost where i need to look for, but it does it only when warmed up after 5/10min en its riding great non the less thats the weard part, very rev happy en rev respons like its brand new, en i also check the head en puled out the valves en put new gaskets in en cleaned the exaust valve, en when i did all those things i checkt for the t line is on top dead center en that is good, checkt the barings is all good en its still the same, so where can this ticking sound be comming from? it not easy to find why its ticking only when the engine is warmed up. maby you have any advise what can do this? it has the 50cc head with the long valves en its not hitting the piston so should be good there. i hope you see my response en have some advice for me that i could check out. greatings from the netherlands 😄
Thanks for watching and commenting ‼️ You could have a bad rocker arm that flexes a little when it heats up. Or it's the oil you are using getting warm and thinning out . Again thank you for watching ‼️
@@scooterrehab6295 thanks for the advice, i have new rocker arm installed en had the same ticking sound, i have now 15w40 in it, maby i try 20w50 on the next oil change. could it also be becous of a weaker spark? or to much compresion? of maby the carb is to lean? can those tings also tick as the engine heats up? or maby just got bad luck en i got an noisy rocker arm brand new?
@@younoit1081 check the valves make a adjustment and if you still hear clicking sound think about oil pressure like the oil pump going bad and not bringing enough oil to the valves
Hi Thks four your video I have a Peugeot V-Clic 50cc 4T my when I start the idle is up after around 15 seconds is caming to normal idle four few seconds is start going up and down all the times is any help please thank you very much apreciate
Help! I changed out the carberator after haven the pilot jet break and not come out no matter whay i tried, cut to the chase. It turns on like power, but has no turn over whay so ever. The fuel filter is empty so how can i get fuel to start flowing again?
Hey thanks for watching take vacuum line off of the intake manifold and put it in your mouth suck and blow on that line until you see fuel fill the filter. I know that sounded like dirty talk 🤣 but that's how it's done.😅
Can the air gas mixture cause it to not start after I rode to store it was fine came back out wouldn’t start I was adjusting the mix and I think that’s what it is
Hey guys I have a 49cc tao tao vip future champion handsome that starts fine. My problem is when I think I have it where it idles great when warm it does a 180 and either idles to low and cuts out or it idles way to fast and won't idle down. When I bought it it didn't run at all. I bought a stator the only thing it needed besides a muffler. I purchased a new muffler put it on now it either idles to low or to fast after I think I finally got it right. PLEASE HELP!!!! I
Kevin thanks for watching sounds like the electric choke is not functioning properly . Those carburetors are so cheap on Amazon id just order a new one.
@Scooter Rehab well I found the problem, I pray anyways. The spacer between the carb and engine is cracked in multiple places. This makes twice I've replaced it. So if anyone else is having idle issues this could be one reason why.
The carburetors are way easy to clean and the rebuild kits are half the price of a new carb. Gotta save them pennies ‼️😂🤣 hey thanks for watching and commenting ‼️
That's the ground wire it's either going to the battery or to the frame. I like to use at least two ground wires the one from the head I usually run to the battery then I run another one from the starter body to the frame you can never have too many grounds thank you for commenting and watching ‼️
I was just wondering cuz I got a Eton 4 stroke ( I usually don’t mess with 4 stroke I like 2 strokes) but it only sparks when I hit the start button and when I release the botton but not in between when the electric starter is turning over, has me like 🤔
I’m actually having a problem with my moped where it has spark, fuel and ran for a sec then died and I tried kick starting it it work but then died in a sec the second time idk what to do I’m not good with mopeds at all, if you could give me an advice please I really need it
Sounds like a clogged jet in the carburetor and or a vacuum leak. Thank the carburetor off and unscrew the jets if you can't see threw them they are clogged
Now that's a brain 🧠 teaser of an issue if I ever heard one. 🤔 Hey join the SCOOTER REHAB Facebook group and post a video of what you are dealing with. Someone in the group probably has that issue before. Thank you for watching ‼️
